Student Life !is year, a fun-"lled summer transitioned to an equally exciting back-to-school and fall season. A cold winter couldn’t bring down spirits as students attended Winter Royalty, dressed for theme days during FFA and FCCLA weeks, and even enjoyed a few snow days. Moving into the spring, prom, graduation, and awards celebrations had students looking forward to the end of the school year. Warm weather the last week of school tempted many students to “check out” early, but they managed to stay focused and "nish "nal projects. At the tail-end of the year, students were able to show o# in a talent show at the academic awards assembly, and a few took the opportunity to demonstrate their skills.

Back to SchoolWhen summer ends and learning begins.

For Pierce High students, summer brought activities like camps, the Pierce County Fair, and lots of fun in the sun. For some students, though, school didn’t necessarily end with May’s "nal bell. For example, several journalism students spent a day of their summer "nishing the yearbook, and many in-coming freshmen took drivers ed. Another summer highlight was a state championship for the summer so!ball team. #e summer so!ball team, the

Linville, J. Bretschneider, and A. Starkel. When summer ended, the students returned back to school. #ey were reunited with their friends that they hadn’t seen in awhile. Students were given a warm welcome back at the back-to-school assembly.

As the school year went on, fall brought assemblies and pep rallies, the student council’s Color Me Crazy run, fall sports events, Community Service Day, a trip downtown to see the Free-dom Riders, and many more fun activi-ties. Red Ribbon Week was full of fun, including dress up days. Many students participated in the Halloween dress up day to “scare away drugs.” Despite being hard at work back in the classroom, the students enjoyed a fun start to the year.
