Alison Lowe is a bright energetic young woman with passion for life and all that it has to offer. She believes in giving her best to every situation no matter how trying the circumstances. The willingness to extend herself and to go beyond what is expected allows her to have opportunities that many people will not experience. She combines this zest for life with a passion to learn and a desire to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. She is currently a Ph.D. student in Clinical Psychology.

Educational background of Alison Lowe:

Alison Lowe received her initial education in Vancouver, Canada. She attended Crofton House School for elementary and high school, Trinity Western University and the University of British Columbia for university. At all these places of education, Alison did well academically and also contributed to the cultural and

sports life of these institutions. Alison was Captain of the Multicultural Club, competed on the tennis team, sang and danced in musicals, involved in debating, fellowship groups and the Psychology Club. Alison was a scholarship student at Trinity Western and graduated from UBC with First Class Honors.

Research Experience

Alison has had the opportunity to be involved in several significant research projects. These include: Research Assistant & Project Coordinator at the Psychophysics & Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at UBC; Research Assistant in Clinical Child Psychology - Peer Relationships in Childhood Lab – UBC; Research Assistant in Applied Developmental Psychology Child & Adolescent Development Lab – UBC; Directed Studies Student & Research Assistant at the K.I.D. Studies Centre in the Culture, Cognition, & Coevolution Lab – UBC, Vancouver, BC.

Other Healthcare Experience

Alison has been an MOA in Vancouver for a family physician and a clinical assistant for a Doctor of Chinese Medicine. At the family medicine clinic, she organized and was a speaker for a weight management seminar sponsored by Vancouver Coastal Health. At Mt. Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Alison was a volunteer in the Geriatrics Ward and the Emergency Ward. Alison has also had the opportunity to work with patients outside of Vancouver. She was medical and dental assistant in Vietnam and Mexico where she helped assist hundreds of patients. In Oregon, she was a Physician’s Assistant & Medical Lab Technician’s Assistant at The Good News Community Health Centre.

Alison is an example to other young people of how to live a full meaningful life.
