Day 3: Amsterdam to The Hague via Zuid-Kennemerland National Park We will depart on a biodiesel motor coach after lunch to Zuid-Kennemerland National Park which encompasses more than 3800 hectares (9,300 acres). The dune ecosystem of the park is home to more than 40% of the Netherlands plant and animal species, including wild horses, fallow-deer and even Wisent, which are the last wild bison in Europe. We will have time to walk or bicycle among the dunes and hopefully to see some of these incredible animal species! Once we’ve had our fill of fresh sea breezes, we’ll continue to The Hague. Our hotel will be perfectly situated for an evening of city exploration or a return to the seashore at the nearby town of Scheveningen. Meals: Breakfast

Day 4: The Hague Today we will learn about the in-credible influence of The Hague, known as the International City of Peace and Justice. Our local guide will help us discover the “royal city by the sea” as we visit the Peace Palace, home to the International Court of Justice, the Binnenhof, Noordeinde Palace and more. Maybe we’ll even catch a glimpse of King Willem-Alexander! After a pleasant stroll through living history, we will enjoy a lunch featuring some of the unique flavors which blend so beautifully in this city of many cultures. The afternoon and evening are yours to relax or continue exploring. Consider visiting the Escher museum or the Mauritshuis. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 5: The Hague to Rotterdam via Delft A quick biodiesel motor coach ride will bring us to the charming town of Delft, birthplace of artist Johannes Vermeer and origin of Delft Blue pottery. We will enjoy a private tour of one of Delft’s oldest ceramics factories, where still today the artisans handcraft and hand-paint these exquisite ceramics. Then, we’ll sit down in the factory for a traditional Dutch lunch. Following lunch, you can even paint your own Delft blue tile with the help of one of the factory artists. (Optional $30). Those who don’t wish to paint will have time to wander the charming town streets.

When our time in Delft is complete, we will continue to the heart of the city of Rotterdam to our unique hotel- the SS Rotterdam. She was once the “grande dame” of the Holland America Line fleet, sailing from Rotterdam to New York beginning in 1958. She has been lovingly restored and moored in the Rotterdam harbor, where she now takes guests on a cruise through history and nostalgia as a 4-star hotel. In the early evening, we’ll take a short ride to the Fenix Food Factory, where we’ll enjoy a tour of the artisan food makers’ stalls before sitting down to a chef-curated dinner of local products. After dinner, join your tour director for an easy and quick walk over to the Hotel New York, the former home of Holland America Line’s offices and one of Rotterdam’s most striking historic buildings. From here, you can keep exploring the city or take a quick watertaxi ride back to the SS Rotterdam. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & Dinner

in their fight against the water. After our private tour of the wind-mills, we will return to the ship for a lunch fit for a captain before we con-tinue sailing to Dordrecht. There, we will disembark the ship and bid a warm goodbye to her hospitable crew. The town of Dordrecht, one of the oldest in the Netherlands, is full of history, beauty and nature. Our hotel blends these elements very nicely and will serve as a perfect base for relaxation or exploration. Consider visiting the Kyck over den Dyck flour (wind)mill, the Grote Kerk or the Dordrecht museum. Meals: Breakfast and lunch

Day 8: Dordrecht In the late morning we will depart for the Biesbosch National Park, one of Northwestern Europe’s most important freshwater tidal wetlands. Here we will enjoy a relaxing morning and afternoon of exploration. We will all pay a visit the park’s visitor’s center to learn more about the waterfowl and mammals that rely on this rich ecosystem. Then, you can share an electric boat with your traveling companions, or set out in a kayak, canoe, stand up paddleboard or bicycle (rentals included) to explore the wetlands and islands. Or find a quiet spot to sit and enjoy the peace of nature. We will all meet in a scenic spot for an included picnic lunch. Once our exploration is complete, we will journey back to Dordrecht for a short walking tour back to our hotel (optional). In the evening, we will enjoy a group dinner at one of Dordrecht’s finest locavore restaurants. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 9: Dordrecht to Amsterdam via Utrecht Our final day of travel through the Dutch countryside will take us from Dordrecht, through the “Green Heart” of Holland to the city of Utrecht. • US and Canadian citizens need a valid passport for this tour

• Why aren’t we calling it Holland? North and South Holland are just two “states’ in the country of the Netherlands.

• The currency is the euro. Get some euros before you leave home or use your debit card in an ATM once you arrive to draw out Euros.

• You will need a travel adaptor for your electronics if you’re from the US or Canada. The Netherlands uses 230 volt electricity and a different plug-type.
