Dear Parents,
I know international programs and travel can be taxing, overwhelming, and confusing at times— but it
shouldn’t be! I have worked tirelessly over the past four years to streamline the process as best I can. Still,
you will naturally have questions and concerns.
Whenever you need me, I am more than happy to discuss and explain any of the steps listed above. Please
feel free to contact me at any time from this point forward with questions, concerns, or hesitations. My
goal for this experience is two-fold.
First, I want to expose students to life beyond the United States and demonstrate the common ground
between cultures and countries. Second, I will try my absolute hardest to provide peace of mind to
parents—I will always be available to answer questions and would enjoy the opportunity to help you with
any difficulties you may encounter.
I look forward to getting to know all of the members of the All-American Team more and wish you the best
of luck in completing the current school year!

Q: How do you decide which students to accept? Is this really a merit based program or do you send out
letters to everyone and accept everyone?
A: We accept approximately 45-55% of students who apply to the All-American Model UN Programs. We
examine every application for: 1) Model UN experience, performance, and awards, 2) Academic
performance inside the classroom as measured by GPA, and 3) Leadership and performance outside of the
classroom.
Q: What happens if there is a medical emergency on the program?
A: All of our programs comes with medical insurance and our on-the-ground partners have extensive
experience leading tour groups in their locale. If the need does arise, we will utilize Western-style hospitals
and medical care only.
Q: What about safety and security?
A: We have extensive safety and security protocols and plans in place, which we train our students on as well.
In four years of leading global programming, we have never had a safety issue. Students are forbidden from
leaving the hotel or the group when touring.
Q: Do we have to use the All-American Programs to buy our flights?
A: Yes. Planning travel for so many students can be very difficult. We must have control over student
itineraries to properly plan for pick-up from airports. For students departing from Boston, we all travel
together. For students meeting us in India, we will do our best to make sure students travel together.
Q: Is Boston Training mandatory?
A: Yes. Students must attend training in Boston if participating in the China program so that we all travel
together. If there are exigent circumstances, please contact the Program Director to apply for an
exemption.
Q: Will there be training or work due from students prior to the program?
A: Yes. We have carefully developed a remote training program that students must complete. In addition to all
in-person programming, students will also receive 10-20 hours of writing review and tutoring to prepare
policy papers for both conferences.
Q: Who organizes the WEMUN Expo and Harvard Model UN India?
A: The WEMUN Expo is hosted by a Chinese organizer called Weland International, but committees are run by
the best conferences in the world, including the University of Chicago, Cornell, Yale, Georgetown, UC
Berkeley, Boston University, and others.
Harvard Model UN India is organized by a local Indian organizer called MUN Café and its substantive
program is orchestrated by Harvard University students.
