Fall Softball Ages 18+

What in the world is Pickleball?! It is a paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. It combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong, and can be

played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net. It is played with a paddle and

a plastic ball with holes that looks similar to a Wiffle Ball.

Seasonal Qi Gong Workshop All ages Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult

You are invited to a seasonal Qigong Workshop!

We are in the midst of autumn, the phase of Metal, which is connected to the health of the lung system. The Metal phase is a time of condensing- extracting

what is essential from the earth energy of late summer and letting go of the rest. We will explore the may aspects of the Metal Phase in meditation,

visualization, and movement qi gongs.

All ages

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult

This series explores the connection between our life journey and our

creative process. Through the use of group sharing, inner travel, and art experiences, the participants gain

insight and direction in their life journey and unlock the creativity that is our inalienable right as human beings.

The group formed will meet once a month from September to May to

create a continuous and deep experience. You can sign up for the

whole experience, or for one session at a time. Materials will be provided.

Qi Gong Workshop: Preparing for the Cold Season All ages Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult

Saturday, November 16 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

$45

Qigong is an umbrella term that covers movement, meditations, visualizations, and

breathing exercises that help us sense and train our qi. When there is an abundant flow of qi, we are

vital and harmonious and can navigate the continuous changes in our life with grace.

The end of summer is a time to pause and bask I the abundance we have created during the growing season before we start the preparation for winter. It is a time to nourish ourselves and find our center. This is the phase of Earth energy when we pay

special attention to the spleen and stomach.

For more information, and to register for a workshop listed on this page, please contact: Amalia Shaltiel [email protected] (814) 571-8726

At East Haddam Parks & Recreation, we’re proud to offer fun, engaging programs to the members of our community. This involves a lot of work on our end- and still, we wouldn’t be able to do it without the unwavering support that we receive from each and every one of you.
