Bellevue High School Football 2018 3
Wolverine FootballWelcome
Welcome to the 2018 Wolverine Football Season!
Over the last three seasons overcoming adversity through hard work and teamwork has been a way of being for our program. Three years ago we lost our long time coaching staff, and pre- and post-season play among several other things. But in the face of adversity, led by then coach Mark Landes, we came together to get the boys back out on the field and play football. Despite challenges, we remained undefeated in KingCo. Then last year, we were granted pre-and post- season play, allowing us a deep run into the playoffs, narrowly losing to the eventual state champion in the semi-final game.
Which takes us to this season. While still under sanctions and not allowed to travel out of state or fundraise for our program, and an amicable change in coaching staff, our team has worked hard to prepare for another great season. Change has brought us a new coaching staff led by a lifelong Bellevue Wolverine and Washington Husky in Head Coach Michael Kneip. Coach Kneip, while rooted in Bellevue tradition, brings a renewed energy to the program. His focus, first and foremost, is developing people of excellence. He teaches his players that playing is a privilege, one that is earned by developing trust and respect. He describes the Wolverine Way, the culture he is cultivating, as TOUGH, physically and mentally tough, can take it and bring it on the field, positive through adversity, never backs down; PASSIONATE: relentless energy, desire to succeed in everything they do; and UNIFIED: band of brothers who are all in, committed to the success of their teammates.
Our Mission To develop people of excellence who will win in the classroom, on the field, and in the community
with integrity, class, and honor.
Our Goal To win state championships with poise, excitement, and gratitude.
We in the booster club want to welcome you to join us, Coach Kneip, his staff, the players, and their families in celebrating another great season of Bellevue Wolverine football. We look forward to a challenging schedule which includes three teams ranked in the top 10 in pre-season polls, followed by a 5-game KingCo schedule.
Go Bellevue! #TheWolverineWay
