Executive Summary

The scope of executive education is clearly expanding towards including entry and mid-level management as organizations realize that better understanding of business at various leadership levels i.e. from the grass root to senior management is a must.
With more companies opting for executive education to drive new business agendas, measuring ROI on executive education is critical. And participation level of executives in any program is the first pointer to measure ROI.
“Annual Survey 2012 - Online Executive Education in India” is an initiative by AVAGMAH Online School to gauge awareness & perception about online education in India, understand demographics & student profile, identify the factors that driveexecutives to online education, understand the perceived value students gain from such a program and identify future trends in the industry. The survey was carried among working professionals across 22 cities. Most of the respondents were in the bracket of 6-10 years of exp.
In certain cases, respondents were allowed to choose more than one option. Also, majority of respondents felt the online program they pursued covered industry relevant content. While relating online education to growth in career, most respondents suggested the program will help their careers as these courses are recognized by their organizations.
In the following pages, the survey will be presented in detail concluding with satisfaction level among executives with online programs delivered by AVAGMAH.

In order to gauge technology adoption, awareness & perception about online education in India, understand demographics & student profile, identify the factors that drive executives to online education, understand the perceived value students aim to gain from such a course and identify future trends in the industry, AVAGMAH Online School carried out a detailed study using online survey tools, face to face and telephonic interviews with working professionals pursuing courses at AVAGMAH across 22 cities.
The survey & interview were conducted on the basis of selected parameters for the study. We conducted a statistically representative sample survey with the objective to i) increase efficiency of the survey design ii) ensure administrative & operational convenience.
The online survey and field data was collected by the product management team at AVAGMAH. The questions posted to respondents were multiple choices. In certain cases respondents were allowed to select more than one checkbox, so percentage in some answers may add up to more than 100%. Respondents were also allowed to give their own answers & feedback in case they disagreed with all options provided in the questionnaire.
