Now, under the name Lifting Labels, The Chill Station employs Returning Citizens to manufacture and market ceremonial robes for clergy, choirs and academic events regalia.

Once retired from the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, Rev. France was determined to create an enterprise to employ some of the 2,000 men and women who returned to Baltimore each year from prison. Many of these people learn sewing skills in prison, helping the

Department to produce clothing, uniforms, hats and jackets. What if they could use those skills for gainful employment when they returned home?
