Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time XII Domingo Ordinario

A S P 2 J 21, 2020

RRETURN TO THE ORDINARY IN AN EXTRAORDINARY WAY

Dear Parishioners: On Monday after the feast of Pentecost, Ordinary Time began, but on these last two Sundays we have celebrated the feasts of the Holy Trinity and Corpus Christi, so that we can say that this Sunday we are returning properly to Ordinary Time. This liturgical Ordinary Time more or less coincides with the return to a certain normality in work and other activities in Massachusetts. We are still in the midst of this pandemic, but businesses and other establishments are picking up pace in some way.

I want to invite you to return to Ordinary Time in an extraordinary way. Personally, that means giving supernatural meaning to all dimensions of our life: family life, work, time of rest and fun, and of course our moments of prayer and celebration of faith. Let's remember that Jesus told us: we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Mt. 5,13-16), and that is especially true in the normality of our lives, where we find so many people thirsty for God.

During the Pandemic, we have fallen from the value of the encounter with the other, from the value of those moments together with our friends or family, even from the value of work as an activity that helps us to fulfill ourselves as human beings; therefore, as we return to these activities, let us not forget the invitation of Jesus who calls us to be salt of the earth and light of the world.

To return to the ordinary does not mean to return to the suffocating monotony that dehumanizes. For a Catholic person, to return to the ordinary means to take advantage of all those opportunities to love, to share joy, to give hope, to grow humanly and spiritually. Remember, however, that all of this is only possible if in your ordinary life you always have the extraordinary in mind: the celebration of Mass, prayer, and the certainty that in providence God directs all the moments of our lives. God bless you all, Father Marcos Peña, Parochial Vicor

REGRESO A LO ORDINARIO DE MODO EXTRAORDINARIO

Queridos parroquianos:
