DEPARTMENT: School-wide Administration

JOB DETAILS:

Job Title: Deputy Director

Directly responsible to: School Director

Directly responsible for: Curriculum, Teacher Development, and Student Support Services

Primary purpose of the job:First and foremost, the Deputy Director would add value to the school through leadership of educational initiatives and programming, and provide the Pre-K-12 scope in curriculum development, alignment and delivery necessary for a “guaranteed and viable curriculum”.

The Deputy Director would work closely with the Director and administrative team to ensure St. John’s has the capacity to provide and support excellent quality programs (curricular and co-curricular), as well as initiatives to be identified in the strategic plan.

The Deputy Director would be primary school leader in any absence of the Director.

The job will require thorough knowledge of school ethos, curriculum, operations and co-curricular programming.

1. Provide leadership of appropriate educational and strategic initiatives at St. John’s

2. Serve as Acting Director in absence of School Director3. Initiate policy and procedures development in support of St. John’s

Provide educational leadership and vision for the long-term educational benefit of the student population

1. Lead school-wide Curriculum alignment, development and implementation

2. Collaborate on development of professional development model effectively supporting the delivery of curriculum

Providing strong leadership to all constituencies of the school in order to guide it through the next development phase

1. Lead the Strategic Plan strategy #1 on Teaching and Learning2. Analyze Student Support Services for entire school and initiate

improvements

Recruiting, mentoring and evaluating highly-qualified administrators, faculty and staff

1. Develop pedagogy and process for our own St. John’s Paradigm2. Provide analysis and feedback on teaching and learning at St. John’s3. Responsible for nurses and secondary library personnel

Maintaining St. John’s long-standing accreditation status with CIS and MSA

Lead the Accreditation Group B (school-wide) Curriculum initiative

Representing the school in local and international communities

Act as representative as needed in local or international communities with or without Director
