Learning Objectives1. Identify advances in evidence-based care for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of theacute stroke patient, to include implications of recent clinical trials.

2. Review and recognize emerging technologies and practices related to identification, treatment, rehabilitationand continued care of stroke patients.

3. Identify best practices in pre-hospital triage and interfacility transfer of stroke patients.

4. Explain infrastructure initiatives, such as legislative and community efforts and regional implementation ofprotocols, to support local stroke systems of care.

5. Review advanced imaging practices for suspected stroke patients.

6. Discuss pharmacologic advances, practices and implication in the treatment and management of stroke.

7. Describe best practices and implications of efficient, regional stroke systems of care.

8. Discuss best practices in acute and post-acute care of stroke patients across the continuum of care for nursingand allied health professionals.

Call for AbstractsThe NECC strives to improve stroke systems of care and reduce disparities throughout the northeast. In doing so,

the Annual Summit offers an opportunity to showcase local work focused on improving care across the entire continuum. Submitted abstracts should highlight innovative procsess and practices which have been

implemented to improve care in your local setting.

Instructions for Submitting an Abstract• Abstract submissions will be reviewed by The NECC Planning Committee and notifications will be sent to allapplicants in August• Expenses associated with the submission and presentation of an abstract, including registration, are theresponsibility of the presenter. • Abstracts selected will be published on The NECC Website.
