1. McGulpin Point Lighthouse is two miles west of downtown Mackinaw City. Although now only a tourist attraction, the lighthouse was originally built to navigate ships travelling in Lake Michigan. Because Michigan borders four Great Lakes, there are 115 lighthouses along the Michigan coastline (Relative location; Great Lakes Region).
