Byvisiblyhoveringnearus,theyare‘proving’thattheyare‘withus.’Butthehardtruthisthisisn’thelpingtosolveAmerica’sracistproblem.Theblackfolksaren’ttheracists.Wherethereallysincerewhitepeoplehavegottodotheir‘proving’ofthemselvesisnotamongtheblackvictims,butoutonthebattlelinesofwhereAmerica’sracismreallyis— andthat’sintheirhomecommunities;America’sracismisamongtheirownfellowwhites.That’swheresincerewhiteswhoreallymeantoaccomplishsomethinghavegottowork.
