Typeface IntroductionLucida Sans is the sans serif complement to Lucida, designed by Kris Holmes and Charles Bigelow in 1985. The

strong shapes and generous proportions are based on traditional Roman letterforms, making them clear and

easy to read in the fine print of directories and parts lists, as well as clean and powerful in business correspon-

dence and newsletters.

I choose to use this typeface because as I am planning to use the map as my background, I need a clean,

simple, static, and easy-to-read typeface. Also, the reason why I choose hand drawn pictures to represent my

tips for memorizing the trip is that I want to make these experience personal and unique. Since it’s hand drawn

lines, sometimes it would be rather messy. In order to balance the randomness, I have to use a static typeface.

Lucida Sans is simple, static, and at same time, elegant and the bold style can stand out from my composition.

Audiences and Design MessagesAs mentioned before, I design this poster to show readers who likes to travel like me. I am sharing my own way

get to know a new city during the trips. The hand drawn style keeps it a little bit rough yet very close to every

travelers—the experience is unique and not able to be reproduced.
