Our technology has increased over the years and the extensive research shows that this energy

can save the world through using renewable energy sources. The

suns rays are collected on panels and the potential energy is turned

into usable energy.

Solar energy is considered renewable because panels displayed either on solar farms, houses as well as cars, they absorb the sun rays that hit the panels. The solar panels are made up photovoltaic (PV) cells and when the sunlight hits them, they are converted into what is called a direct current. Direct current cells (DC) are the same type of electricity that is produced in batteries when the flow of electrons goes in a certain direction together. The inverter is the mechanism that converts the DC electricity into usable energy called the alternating current energy (AC). The alternating current electricity is sent from the inverter to the electrical panel which allows the energy captured, to be used in the home as an example using the energy for appliances and lights. The power is sent to the breaker box. From there, the utility meter measures the energy use. Due to the fact that this energy is captured, it allows the meter to go backwards when more energy is being generated through the solar panel system.

Our energy is very advanced, it is not only a source of clean renewable energy but it furthers quality of life. Solar energy has been researched and is compatible with our way of life, it can

power the world. Due to solar energy, the price of energy each month is largely minimized and allows the meter to reverse and save you money each month!

Oil sands is a very large industry. It is extremely harmful to the environment releasing greenhouse emissions into the air which we breathe. It extracts sands and clay like matter out of the ground, to refine and produce oil. The oil that is taken out of the ground is used for cars and other machinery which isn’t very efficient for how much work and problems it causes. Not to mention, the process using large machinery durning the extraction produces pollution. Solar energy produces no pollution and does not destruct the environment surrounding.

The wind turbines are potentially dangerous and could cause damage to many environments that they are placed in. They produce loud sounds which are disruptive of animals and urban communities. They are dangerous if not supported properly and need a lot of space to spin. Efficiency is low especially if their is little wind in the areas that they were placed. Also does not employ a lot of people. Solar energy is not harmful of its surrounding s and does not take up lots of space especially when placed on the roofs of houses.

Dangerous to birds as well as could be damaged due to weather.

Hurts the environment of animals that the wind turbines have invaded their space

Tidal energy is a technology that produces little energy completely depending on the tide of the ocean where located. Marine life is effected through deterioration of habitats such as reefs and tide pools. As well as the pollution that is created during the process of collecting energy. Machinery would be very expensive and difficult to repair. Solar energy does not however negatively effect marine life or have anything to do with our ocean or negatively effecting the environment around the

panels.
