The organizationAltusGroup® is an exclusive partnership of more than two dozen of the top precasters and suppliers in North America. AltusGroup members are dedicated to breakthrough approaches in design, engineering and manufacture of precast building products. While focused primarily on the North American market, AltusGroup does have International Affiliate members. Supply chain partners contributing to AltusGroup’s success participate as Innovation Partners.

The innovative group operates on an entrepreneurial “co-opetition” business model in which members cooperate to speed the development of precast technology then compete against one another for projects in the marketplace.

The productsAltusGroup members are the pioneers and exclusive suppliers of CarbonCast® precast technology. CarbonCast uses C-GRID® carbon fiber composite grid as a reinforcing agent. AltusGroup licenses the following CarbonCast product technologies:

Enclosure Systems: CarbonCast technology powers a full portfolio of high performance walls products for cost and energy efficiency. C-GRID is used as a shear truss between the inner and outer wythes of concrete in insulated wall panels. The high-strength carbon fiber grid has negligible thermal conductivity, rendering a wall system with continuous insulation and superior energy-saving performance at reduced weight.

Architectural: CarbonCast Insulated Architectural Cladding uses C-GRID as a wythe connector system and incorporates carbon fiber grid as primary face reinforcement replacing steel and metal to deliver lightweight non-corrosive panel options.

Double Tees: C-GRID replaces welded wire mesh as flange reinforcement. Non-corrosive C-GRID enables an 8 percent reduction in concrete cover and eliminates the cost and hassle of post-applied sealants and use of expensive corrosion inhibitors.

Piles: C-GRID replaces welded wire mesh in the confinement region to eliminate corrosion in the splash zone and dramatically increase the service life of bridges and transportation products.
