On November 6, 2014, alumni from Portland came together for the USB Alumni

luncheon led by President, U.S. Bank – Oregon, Malia Wasson and Chairman, Presi-

dent and CEO, Richard Davis.

Alumni meet in Portland for

U.S. Bank Alumni Luncheon

On November 6, 2014, alumni from Portland came together for the annual USB Alumni luncheon acknowledging each other and their careers with U.S. Bank.

Prior to the luncheon, alumni had the opportunity to visit informa-tional tables to learn about volun-teer opportunities, the Return to Work program, technology, Re-alSteps, the USB Alumni News-stand and Get Green with US.

Following the luncheon, a presen-tation was made by special guest speaker Malia Wasson, president, U.S. Bank, Oregon and South-west Washington and Richard Da-vis, chairman, president and CEO. Malia summarized the mar-ket updates for the Portland mar-ket and Richard presented an up-date on U.S. Bank.

Director of Alumni Engagement Karon Fitzhugh gave an overview of the USB Alumni Program and honored alumnae Pat Dobbins and Marilyn Herbster, celebrating their careers at U.S. Bank.

Pat Dobbins was honored at the Portland Alumni event. Pat retired from U.S. Bank after a 27 year banking career. Pat held various leadership roles including sup-porting financial applications for Banks, Credit Unions & Savings and Loans. Pat and her husband, Ed, recently celebrated 45 years of marriage. We are proud to call Pat a U.S. Bank Alumni.

Marilyn Herbster was also hon-ored at the Portland Alumni event. Marilyn retired from U.S. Bank after a 57 year banking ca-reer. Marilyn’s career began as a teller to branch specialist to work-ing in technology and operation services. Marilyn has five grand-children and soon will celebrate the arrival of her 10

th great grand-

child. We are proud to call Mari-lyn a U.S. Bank Alumni.

About this year’s Portland Alumni Luncheon hosts: Richard Davis | Davis, age 56, is chairman, president and chief executive officer of U.S. Bancorp, a financial services holding com-pany with more than $403 billion in total assets and businesses across the United States, Canada and Europe. U.S. Bancorp is headquartered in Minneapolis and is the parent company of U.S. Bank, which has 3,176 full-service banking offices and 5,022 ATMs in 25 states. U.S. Bancorp is also the parent company of Elavon, a leader in the payment processing industry. U.S. Bancorp and its employees are dedicated to improving the communities they serve, for which the company earned the 2011 Spirit of America Award, the high-est honor bestowed on a compa-ny by United Way. U.S. Bancorp was also awarded the 2013 Free-dom award which is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Department of Defense to em-ployers for their support of their employees who serve in the Na-tional Guard and Reserve. Davis began his banking career as a teller at age 18, worked his way through college and now leads the nation’s 5th largest commercial bank. He became CEO of U.S. Bancorp in 2006, previously having been a senior executive with the organization and its predecessors since 1993. He chairs U.S. Bancorp’s manag-ing committee, the 15 highest-ranking executives within the organization. Davis has been an influencing force in the banking industry for 38 years. His leadership and prudent approach to financial

management has garnered na-tional and international praise for U.S. Bancorp, which has emerged as strong and stable following one of the most difficult chapters in banking history. His outstanding leadership skills were recognized as he was named the “2010 Executive of the Year” by the Twin Cities Business Journal and “2010 Banker of the Year” by the American Banker. During his career Davis has held executive level positions with Bank of America and Security Pacific Bank, both in Los Angeles, and with legacy organizations of today’s U.S. Bancorp, which in-clude the former Firstar Corpora-tion in Milwaukee and Star Banc Corporation in Cincinnati. Davis’ enthusiasm for his industry is equally prevalent in his civic and philanthropic commitments. Davis serves on the boards of the Twin Cities YMCA, Minneapolis Art Institute, University of Minne-sota Foundation, Greater MSP, National American Red Cross, University of San Diego and the Financial Services Roundtable. He is Chairman of the board for the Minnesota Business Partner-ship, The Clearing House and Itasca Group. He also serves as the lead director of Xcel Energy Inc. and serves as chairman of the board of U.S. Bancorp. Davis has been honored by the Banking and Finance Division of the UJA-Federation of New York and has been the recipient of the Presi-dent’s Lifetime Volunteer Service Award. In 2011, he received the Henrickson’s Award for Ethical Leadership. Davis earned a bachelor's degree in economics from California State University at Fullerton, and is married and the father of three

adult children and has three grandchildren.
