The Computer Science and

of 240 each for the year 2014-15.
The MBA programme has been approved with an intake of 300 for the year
2014-15.
Two new M.Tech courses namely “Thermal Engineering” and “CAID” were
included for the year 2014-15 with intake of 18 each.
VTU LIC Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. Sadashiva Gowda, Principal, Vidhya Vardhaka College of thEngineering, Mysore visited the College on 7 May 2014 for annual inspection and grant of affiliation.

Dr. T.N.Sreenivasa, Principal, AMCEC is appointed as BOE member in Bangalore University and Jain
University, and also as BOS member in BMSCE for Academic year 2014-15.

Dr. J Anitha, has received her Ph. D convocation, titled “Priority Dispatching Rules in Solving Job Shop
Scheduling Using Ant Colony Optimization”, from Anna University, under the guidance of Dr. M. Karpagam,
Associate Professor, Department of EEE, HICET, Coimbatore.
Dr. G. G. Sivasankari, has completed her Ph. D, titled “Optimized Algorithms to Maximize Energy
Conservation in Wireless Sensor Networks”, from Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University Hyderabad, under
the guidance of Dr. K R Venugopal, Principal, UVCE & Special Officer, DVG Bangalore University. th st ISE Department has secured 3 Ranks at the 13 Annual Convocation, VTU, Belgaum; two at the UG level - 1
nd stRank by Ms. Kavitha Jain (Gold Medal), followed by 2 Rank by Ms. Thanushree; and at the PG level, 1 Rank
(Gold Medal) by Ms. Shilpashree of M.Tech(CNE).
The Doctoral Committee Meeting was held in January 2014 for all the research scholars registered with VTU,
Belgaum. Dr. Suraiya Tarannum, Head, Dept. of Telecommunication Engineering was appointed as Ph.D. Co-
coordinator.
M. Tech Students of EEE Dept., Ms. Sowmya (1AM13EPS15) was the 4th and 1st VTU topper in First and Second semesters respectively (2014) and Ms. Mohitha (1AM13EPS07) was the IV VTU topper in Second

Department of Computer Science & Engineering has submitted application for TIFAC MSME PROGRAM for a
grant of Rs. 7.2 Lakhs.th
Data Centre Lab was inaugurated on 13 December 2014 by Dr. Subramanian, Dean Academics and is
functioning effectively under the guidance of Dr. T. N. Sreenivasa, Principal, AMC EC.
Bangalore University awarded Ph. D degree to Dr. R. Gangadhar Reddy for his research work in “Studies On
Convective Instability in Ferro Fluid Saturated Porous Medium Using Local Thermal Non Equilibrium Model”
