Ageless Grace!
Ageless Grace is fitness for physical and cognitivedevelopment based on movement, mindfulness,
music, and the science of brain plasticity.Ageless Grace is practiced sitting in a chair and canhelp healthy adults, seniors, and children as well as
challenged populations live a life of comfort and ease. The twenty-one “tools” of the program work the coremuscles, organs, and all systems of the body whileaddressing balance, breathing, the five functions of
the brain, and the twenty-one primary aging factors ofthe body. The exercises or tools are based on the
cutting edge Science of Neuroplasticity, designed tore-open the neural pathways in our brain and to
create NEW neural pathways....a perfect blend offitness for body and brain. Ageless Grace will help us
learn how to stay functionally youthful!See the calendar for days and times for the Ageless
Grace classes. You won’t want to miss them!

The Eastland DisasterFor an hour, while passengers wereboarding the steamship Eastland, on
this rainy but otherwise calm Saturday, the ship slowly rocked back and forthfrom starboard to port. The motion of
the boat, which was scheduled to takeemployees of the Western Electric Co.
on an excursion to Michigan City,Indiana, did not alarm the crew.
Please join John Boda on Friday, July22nd, at 10:30 a.m. in the Community
Room to learn more about thissignificant day in Chicago history.
Transportation NewsTom Coyle, aka, “our friendly
transportation guy,” will pick usup at the Renwick Building door

informed! Thank you!
Open Dining ConceptWe are very excited to open our

Drumming CircleSaturday, July 2, 2016
Community Room @ 10:30 a.m.The reason rhythm is such a powerful
tool is that it permeates the entirebrain. Vision, for example, is in one
part of the brain, speech another, butdrumming accesses the whole brain. The sound of drumming generateddynamic neuronal connections in all
parts of the brain. Rhythmic drumminginduces altered states, which have a
wide range of therapeuticapplications. Drumming creates asense of connectedness with self
and others. If you have never experienced a
drumming session with Mary Helen,Music Therapist, please give it a try!
