HeatherA girl in Suburbia and Will's girlfriend. She discovers she is pregnant but has difficulty telling herboyfriend of the news. WhatsernameA girl in the city who falls for Johnny. A rebellious activist who is willing to follow Johnny to the ends ofthe earth, but fights to have him embrace their authentic relationship rather than pursue his addiction.Age: 19+Vocal range top: D#5 Vocal range bottom: F#3

Extraordinary GirlA girl in the Middle East who appears as a sexual hallucination to injured Tunny. Attractive andmysterious, she later appears as his nurse and accompanies him home after the war.Age: 19+Vocal range top: E5 Vocal range bottom: Bb3

EnsembleGreen Day’s American Idiot has a strong ensemble presence. We are seeking a group of diversepeople from all backgrounds and genders, with a range of different talents and skills. We will becasting a mix of strong vocalists and strong dancers, and will cast featured Ensemble roles from thisgroup.

St JimmyThe role of St Jimmy has been cast and will not be auditioned.

Additional InformationAge RequirementsDue to the adult themes featured in Green Day’s American Idiot, we will not beauditioning any person under the age of 16. All auditionees under the age of 18 will needto complete a parental consent form and bring to auditions to take part in this production.

RehearsalsRehearsals will take place Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays. A rehearsal scheduleis available to view prior to registering for an audition, (some minor changes may bemade prior to rehearsals.) We will do our best to stick to the rehearsals schedule as it is,however, there may be changes throughout the rehearsal period.

Additional vocal rehearsals with the band will be communicated throughout therehearsal period and cast are strongly encouraged to attend as many of these aspossible.

We strive to not waste peoples time at rehearsals, however, there may be times whenyou are not being utilised during the specified time. We appreciate your time andpatience and will avoid this as much as possible. If there are dates you are unable toattend rehearsal please notate on your audition form. Please consider the commitmentprior to auditioning.

CostumesAs this show is set in modern times, we will be asking cast members to help with theirown costuming where possible. This will include Jeans, shirts and shoes.

You will receive an email with your vocal audition time, we understand everyone’s timeis valuable and will work around any requirements as best we can. Everyone auditioningfor this production will need to attend the Dance audition.

If you are unable to audition of the 15th of May please email the Director to discussalternate arrangements.

COVIDsafe RequirementsYou will need to check-in when you arrive at the theatre (download the QLD check-inApp prior to audition day.) As there is capacity limits in the main foyer, please stretch andprepare yourself at home. You will need to sanitise your hands when you enter thetheatre and if you are displaying any flu like symptoms please do not come to theaudition. Alternate arrangements will be made if you wish to continue with the audition.

If for any reason audition structure needs to change due to the capacity limits we will letyou know promptly.

Gold Coast Little Theatre is a not for profit organisation and taking part in the production is voluntary.

Time

Theatre will be open at 8:30am for sign in

Dance Audition: 9am -12pm

Vocal Audition: 12:30pm - 6pm

PLEASE NOTE: Every person must attend the dance audition. We will have peoplewith different capability and will teach the choreography to this. It is encouragedthat everyone completes a vocal audition, If you are a dancer who does not wishto sing please email the Director to discuss further.

Dance AuditionChoreography will be taught to the title song “American Idiot” by our Choreographer.Everyone will be split into groups and will be given an opportunity to practice beforeperforming to the panel.

There will be a brief warm up prior to learning the choreography, so please stretch anddo any preparation you need before coming to the audition.

Vocal AuditionOnce you have registered for an Audition you will receive an email with your vocalaudition time.

If you are auditioning for any of the 6 leads you will be required to sing a specified songfrom the show accompanied by a small band (first verse and chorus). If you are amusician and wish to accompany yourself please prepare the first verse and chorus ofyour song choice. Please have your instrument tuned and ready to go prior to enteringthe audition room.
