www.APMA.org Overview The American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), a national organization representing the
vast majority of podiatrists in the United States, respectfully requests your consideration of
sponsorship for the 27th
Annual Kaplan-Clarke-Foster Practice Management Seminar (hereafter
referred to as “the KCF” or “the event”), which has been scheduled as follows:
KCF27 – September 21-25, 2016 * PGA National, Palm Beach Gardens, FL
Kaplan-Clarke-Foster
Background
During its more than 25 year history, the event has raised more than $700,000 in support of the
APMA Government Education Fund.
What is the APMA Government Education Fund?
The Government Education Fund (GEF) is a separate segregated source of financial
resources used for federal legislative education, initiatives, and issue awareness. This
includes funding approximately 50% of the annual Podiatric Medical Legislative
Conference, and public awareness initiatives. These funds cannot be used to support
candidates for federal office.
How is the GEF Funded?
The GEF receives all of its funding from the donations of APMA members, component
societies and corporations. Individual and corporate contributions are welcome and
requested.
Description The practice management seminar, also referred to as the four-day event, will take place
September 21-25, at PGA National Golf Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The four-day
event will offer practice management content encompassing aspects of foot and ankle care. Now
in its 27th
year, the four-day event sees an average of 45 participants, the majority of whom
represent leadership from state and national podiatric medical societies affiliated with the
APMA. Grants received from sponsors of the KCF are applied to lobbying and legislative
education activities, specifically the annual Podiatric Medical Legislative Conference held in
Washington, DC. All expenses for the KCF are paid for through the individual registration fees
and reservation packages selected by the participants, no part of the event is paid for through
corporate sponsorship. No sponsorship dollars may be used to support candidates for federal
elective office.

Conclusion Established in 1912, APMA is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit membership association and is the
nation’s leading professional society for foot and ankle physicians and surgeons. We confidently
approach our second century of service, knowing that we have gained significant ground in
having the profession seen as an integral member of a medical team in hospitals, clinics and
offices across the country; in the legislative arena, in member and consumer education; and in
the area of public and private insurance. We are grateful for your consideration of support for
this sponsorship request for the 27th
Annual Kaplan-Clarke-Foster Practice Management
Seminar.
