Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon fon\ ;k nnkfr fou;e February 2017 Principal Arti Chopra Wins ‘Learning Challenge Award’ Principal Mrs. Arti Chopra, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert had the privilege of being selected and wining Learning Challenge Award . She was assigned the 'Delocalize' group in which she worked in collabora- tion with other five Educators, Experts of the country. She created an innovative project #HELP@24X7@EduBuddies a real time web based communication platform for GRADE X & GRADE XII Board Examinees to de-stress and help students to overcome the exam fear. The project was showcased at the Annual MIE Expert and Showcase School Lead- ers Summit 2017 held at Pride Plaza Hotel Aerocity, Delhi on 7th & 8th February. Over 800 educators from across the country participated out of which the leading MIEEs were categorised in teams named as strategise, de- localise, minimise, personalise & family that were expected to take their projects ahead. The glittering award distribution ceremony was graced by Mr. Bhasker Pramanik- Chairman Microsoft India, Mr. Bertrand Launay ,COO Microsoft In- dia ,Mr. Meetul Patel, General Manager- Marketing Microsoft India, Ms. Eve Psalti- Director Worldwide Education Audi- ence and Dr. V Vijayalakshmi ,KVS Joint Commissioner (Academics). Our Young Musicians Win DELHI PRATIBHA PURASKARUnder the mentorship of the Chairperson of Amity Group of schools and RBEF, Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, students from Amity International Sector 46, Gurgaon , brought laurels to the school by participating in an event “DELHI PRATIBHA PURASKAR” organized by the Art & Cultural Trust of India on 16th December. Panel Discussion on Community Health & Hygiene

With the objective of generating health and hygiene con-sciousness in the society a panel discussion was held on 30.1.17 in the school premises. The Panellists included Mr Kalyan Singh , BJP activist and chairman of Zila Parishad, Sakshi Joshi , an eminent anchor of News 24, Ms. Ranjana Saikia- Senior educational consultant, correspondent of youth outreach programs at Teri university, eminent Rotarians and an array of doctors. The discussions ranged from zika virus to awareness programs, environmental aspect to preventive measures. Students even discussed about relapse, vaccina-tion, community hygiene, and affordability of treatment. The discussion witnessed enthusiastic participation of parents as well. The Chairman of Zila Parishad applauded the initiative of the school.

Amitians Took Part in Innovation Festival

Our team consisting of four students and a teacher, Ms. Meenakshi Dahiya participated in Innovation Festival 2017 organised by the National Science Centre, New Delhi from 20

rd January, 2017.

Our students got a fabulous opportunity to attend a popular science lecture given by Dr. R. K.Kothala, Chief Scientist, National Physical laboratory who specializes in Mag-netic Measurements standards, Nano Mag-netic Material, Superconductivity, Multi fer-rous, Device Physics, Solar Cell, Humidity Sensor, and Hydroelectric Cell. The lecture conducted on the topic ‘Electricity Genera-tion Using Few Drops of Water by In-vented Hydroelectric Cell - A Green En-ergy Source '. enhanced the knowledge of our students adequately .

Junior Annual Day “Gaurav Gaatha, An Essence of true leadership”

Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon celebrated its Junior School Annual Day on February 21, 2017 in the school premises. The programme titled ‘GauravGaatha- Essence of true lead-ership’ witnessed the participation of1200 students from classes I-V, commenced with an enthralling Sur Bahaar -an orchestra presentation, a melodious blend of both instrumen-tal and vocal performance. The folk tune set in taal “Keharwa” mesmerized the audience showcasing a fabulous synchronization of rhythm and musical beats, The glittering costumes and cheery expressions of the students stole the show. Principal Mrs. Arti Chopra highlighted the achieve-ments of the students in the Annual Report of the school. She also brought into light the efforts of the school in promoting Indian music, art and culture along with ample stress on aca-demic excellence. .. It was followed by a special musical per-formance ‘Veer Gaatha’ by the students of Amitasha, an ini-tiative by Dr.(Mrs.) AmitaChauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools, for the less privileged girls. The chief guest, Smt. PratibhaPrahlad, Padma Shri, an emi-nent Dancer, Choreographer & Cultural Icon of India and other distinguished guests including Mr. K G Suresh, Director General, Indian Institute of Mass Communication and Bhavin Shah CEO of Education World and Director of Busy Bees India, Mr. EnmayazItyen Vice Chairman of Afghan Turk school in Afghanistan and Mr. EbubekirAtay Head of Olympi-ads ,graced the occasion.

Our Sports Stars Bring Laurels

ISAFF India conducted National Trial selections for North India Open Cup'2017 to be held in Goa this year .Amity 46

won the championship with 8 gold and 2 silvers medals in various categories. Kudos to winners!

Amity Gurgaon Half marathon the, fourth edition was organised by Amity Group at Leisure Valley Park in Sector 29, Gurgaon on 26th February 2017, in partnership with the Hindustan Times, with three categories – 21km run, 10km run and 5km run. The races started from Leisure Valley Park, towards Huda City Centre metro station and covered routes along Amity International School, Artemis Hospital and Tau Devi Lal Stadium. The participants in the 21km run covered the whole route while those participating in the 10km run finished near Amity School. The 5km race ended near Huda City Centre metro station. It was a remarkable initiative by Amity Group in spreading awareness about healthy life style.
