Glass Brain(M) can be adopted regardless of the

type of glass melting furnace, melting capacity and

energy used.

Combustion control: The accurate air/fuel ratio control

of Glass Brain(M) provides the stable firing of Glass

Furnace. Together with monitoring oxygen density of

flue gas and observing flames in the furnace by ITV

achieves the energy saving operation.

Automatic Reversal control: During the reversal of

burning side, many parameters are monitored and

controlled to minimize shocks to furnace pressure and

Glass level and to shorten the time for exchange.

Glass Brain(M) proceeds accurate Reversal procedure

by harmonizing analogue controls with digital sequential

signals, and contributes to extend the life of furnace and

decrease the defects caused by refractory.

Glass level control: Kyoto EIC offers Glass Leveler

which provides the measuring accuracy of ± o.1 mm.

Combined with this leveler Glass Brain(M) maintains

stable glass level, which is very important to improve

the quality of molten glass.

Reliability: In the glass manufacturing plant,

“Reliability and Toughness” of control system is the first

priority. Kyoto EIC selects and uses components and

field equipment only after they are evaluated as reliable

through actual use in the field. Back up controller are

equipped as standard. The reversal control requires

most reliable control system and Glass Brain(M) uses

traditional contact relays and switches, and adapts the

same design of operation panel for long years to ensure

and simplify the manual operation under emergency.

Human-machine interface: 23 ins. LCD of Full high

Definition monitor displays clear images of graphic

operation data. Formatted information such as trend

graphs, daily report and monthly report helps quick and

correct understandings of operation. “Visible standards”

of the operation on HMI screen helps to shorten the

training period of operators and makes the actions of

operators for troubles quick and sure.

Glass Brain(M) contributes to realize the reliable operation

of Glass Melting Furnace.

HMI: Report of weighing operation

Glass Brain(B) provides a fully automated operation

of weighing, mixing and conveying raw materials in

Batch Plant.

The glass batch which weighed accurately and mixed

carefully assures good quality of molten glass and high

performance of production.

Glass Brain(B) has a packaged software for

supervising and controlling weighing procedure. An

error adjust algorithm watches factors of errors and

correct them automatically. Abnormal errors during

weighing stop the process and do not allow wrong

batches going to the furnace.

At the scale site, Field control panel is located and

Touch Screen on the panel provides over all control

status, alarm information and setting of parameters.

Also in the control center, HMI system of Batch Plant

or a factory wide HMI system, connected with the

control panel through network, stores operation data,

supervises the progress and creates reports.

HMI or Touch Screen in the field provides a batch

setting of parameters for product change based on

recipe of each product. Weighing results of raw

materials of each scale cycle are checked, stored and

reported.

Automation by Glass Brain(B) contributes to the

quality of Glass Batch and to reduce the cost of

Batch Plant operation.

In Glass Batch Plant, “In-line scaling system”

and “ Tower scaling system” is used.

Glass Brain (B) has rich and proven experience

in both systems.

Glass Brain (F) provides “ menu of product change”

which changes setting of parameters for next product as a

batch. This quick and sure setting shortens the time of job

change and avoids mistakes of operators.

Glass Brain (F) has an independent controller on each

zone which works as back up, and these are supervised by

PLC.

HMI system in control center is available by connecting

LAN to the field instrumentation panel. Touch Screen on

the field panel, which monitors operation, alarm and sets

parameters, is often equipped upon request.

In Annealing Lehr, Glass Brain(F) also provides a batch

setting for product change.

Glass Brain(F) contributes to efficient production

in Forming.
