NAGOYA

Nagoya is one of Japan’s three great urban centers ( Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya). It is also well known

for its close proximity to numerous natural scenic and tourist attractions, and is a great place both to

study and to enjoy your time in japan. Nagoya is a center of manufacturing craftsmanship, with strong

connections to the automotive, aircraft, and industrial robot industries. Local residents are kind, and

accommodating. It’s a great place to live, study, and come in contact with Japanese culture and traditions.

You can find valuable information on the webpage, for living matters

from trash disposal, to payment for home utilities. You can also find the

A metropolis with a low cost of living, even lower than Tokyo and Osaka

Reasonable cost of livingRent is a major part of the cost of living. One of Nagoya’s biggest attract ions is the reasonable rents you wi l l f ind here. Many universit ies also prov ide dormitor ies for internat ional students, which is another way of reducing expenditure while you are a student.

One-third the population density of Tokyo and Osaka

An easy-going, fun-filled city with great sports eventsNagoya’s population density is only one-third that of Tokyo or Osaka. The city has a number of lush parks that are great for enjoying the weather, jogging, or taking part in the many seasonal events that are held in the city. Nagoya offers a bit of everything for sports fans. Many figure skaters, sumo wrestlers, and other Olympic medal winning athletes got their start here, and you can catch a game of professional baseball or soccer, two sports loved by the locals.

Convenient access to major points in japan and around the world

Convenience of travelling aroundThe Shinkansen Bullet Train “Nozomi” will take you to Tokyo in about 1 hour and 40-minutes, and just 50-minutes to Osaka. There are many well-known tourist spots, such as Hida Takayama, Ise and Toba, which are easily reached by train from Nagoya. For those returning home or otherwise traveling abroad, Chubu Centrair International Airport is just a 28-minute train ride from Nagoya Station. Nagoya also has a well-developed public transportation network of subway and bus lines that make commuting or shopping very easy.

Rich in history and cultural heritages

A city of history and traditionsNagoya has preserved various historical heritage, many of these sites were established in the Edo period (1603 - 1867) when Nagoya was once a remarkable castle town, and when the three legendary heroes (Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Tokugawa Ieyasu) established their presence in the land. There are many places great for getting in touch with Nagoya’s history. After visiting perhaps Nagoya’s most famous landmark, Nagoya Castle, head over to Atsuta Shrine, originally built 1900 years ago and visited by 6.5 million tourists every year. Those looking to learn about samurai culture and see treasures preserved from the period can visit the Tokugawa Art Museum. Or head to Arimatsu and see how Japan's famous shibori tie-dyeing is done.

Craftsmanship for the future

A city that continues to growNagoya is home to numerous businesses engaged in manufacturing, starting with world’s leading companies like Toyota Motor Corporation, and extending to the aerospace, transportation, fine ceramics, and other industries that have grown in this area. Nagoya Kanko Bus offers tours that visit the Toyota Commemorative Museum of industry and Technology as well as the Noritake Garden, where visitors can learn about and experience first-hand Japanese Manufacturing craftsmanship.
