good oral health has never been moreimportant…

Recent studies have found that the bacteria associated withperiodontal (gum) disease can exasperate and even cause

issues in the body such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, respiratory issues, Alzheimer’s, dementia and even cancer!

How you can maintain a healthy mouth…

At Palm Beach Dental we are focused on helping you achieve a beautiful, healthy and functional mouth, and in order to maintain your oral health

at home it is important to remember to:

Brush at least twice daily – this will help remove accumulation of plaquebefore it hardens to tartar (which must be professionally removed by adentist!). It is best to use a soft-bristled toothbrush as hard bristles can

actually erode the tooth enamel and cause damage to the teeth. Hold thebrush at a 45 degree angle in order to massage the gums, remove plaque

from the gum line and clean your teeth respectively.

Floss at least once a day – food debris that are left in the mouth cancause significant decay to your smile, so flossing is one of the most

important steps in your oral health routine. We recommend flossingbefore going to sleep, as we produce less saliva when sleeping which

causes the perfect environment for bacteria to thrive.

Visit our Gold Coast dental practice every six months – doing this willhelp us keep track of your oral health, and diagnose any issues early

before they become severe and costly.
