Firie Jill T. Ramos is a native of Tacloban City and teaches children to read, write, and count. She writes poems and children’s stories. She earned her M.A. degree in Education (Major in SPED) from the UP Diliman and her B.A. Communication Arts from UP Visayas Tacloban College. Firie is a faculty member of the graduate and undergraduate school of the Leyte Normal University.

Jodalyde G. Gaspay is a native of Tacloban City. She is a self taught artist who became an illustrator of children’s books by serendipity. Jodalyde finished a degree in Interior Design. She also does Digital 3D Modeling and Digital Architecture designs.

THE MOVE TO TAGPUROAn Pagbalhin ha Tagpuro

Ha sinirangan, samtang nagkakanap an bulawan nga adlaw, ngan nagsasabrag hin kalamrag, nagkagawas ha ira tent hi Tintin, hi Kuya Dondon, an ira puto nga hi Kakay, kaupod hi Tatay Pido, ngan hi Nanay Ansing. In the east , while the golden sun was crawling, spreading lights up the horizon, Tintin, Kuya Dondon, little Kakay, Tatay Pido, and Nanay Ansing stepped out of their tent.

Mabaya na hira hini nga tent nga ira anay gin-ukyan ha sulod han damo nga mga bulan. Nagkasakay hira Tin-tin han trak nga naghuhulat ha ira.They will now leave this tent, where they have lived for many moons. Tintin and her family rode on the truck that was waiting for them.

Kadungan han tugaok han mga sunoy, nagdadalan ha Maharlika an trak, tipasaka ngadto ha Tagpuro. As the roosters crowed, the truck run the lengths of Maharlika, going up the roads to Tagpuro.

Gintatapo hira han berde nga lasang, mga rubas nga mga puno nga nanunubo ha kawanangan, ngan mga magkalain lain nga mga bukad nga namumungko ha ligid han highway.They were met by green fields, sturdy trees that stood all over, and different flowers that grew by the road.

“Mga anak, amo inin it' aton bag-o nga balay,” siring ni Tatay Pido.“Children, this is our new house,” said Tatay Pido.

Agidaw kahusay! Mahusay ngan madig-on an ira bag-o nga balay, kay bato ini nga balay nga kolor gatas, sim an atop, ngan salamin an bintana.Agidaw! Their new house was beautiful and sturdy for it was made of concrete and painted in white; it had a tin roof; and glass windows.

They went inside their new house.

The posts were solid, it had a ceiling, and a concrete floor. There were two bedrooms, and a comfort room built inside the house. There was also a sink with a faucet.

“Yes, my child, we are safe here, and away from the dangers of the sea,” answered Nanay Ansing.

The next day, the family was up early.

Nanay Arsenia planted the panhauli, in their front yard. Tintin helped her.

“This plant will heal our pains away,” she told Tintin.

“Dinhi magpapatubo kita hin marigoso, okra, ug tarong pati ganas, alugbati, ngan kamalunggay,” an siring ni Tatay Pido.“Here we will raise amplaya, okra, and eggplant, as well as kamote, alugbati, and malunggay,” said Tatay Pido

Ngan didto han ira bago nga balay, ha bungtod han Tagpuro, umabat hi Tintin hin kalipay nga humapon ha iya dughan. Ngan naabat niya nga tikang yana mas maupay an mga maabot nga adlaw ha ira kinabuhi. In their new house, on the hilltops of Tagpuro, Tintin felt joy fluttered in her heart. She felt certain that from now on many good days will come to their lives.
