ARMY LISTS
Armies are to be comprised of 1850 points and follow ALL rules as stated in the Community Comp document. If you are unsure of what Community Comp is, it is explained later in the Player Pack. Please be sure to pay close attention to it regarding Detachment allowances.Things like Imperial Armour etc are obviously banned.Formations, Stronghold Assault, Dataslates, etc are all allowed as per the Community Comp document.
Any questions (or if there is anything I have missed) then feel free to contact me.Army lists are required at least 1 week before the tournament (30th May 2015), however I would REALLY appreciate it if people can submit them earlier if possible to make it easier for me to go through them checking points and comp scores.Penalties may apply for late lists.
To submit your army list, please email it to [email protected] with the subject title...“Terracon – Your Name – Your Army”For example... “Terracon – John Smith – Eldar”
Please submit your list as either an Army Builder PDF, Battlescribe html, or a CLEARLY written text document. Make sure that the list is an email attachment, and not written in the body of the email.
If for any reason you are unable to submit your list via this method, please contact me at least 3 weeks before the tournament (18th May 2015). If your army list is not received by the due date, point penalties will apply.
OBJECTIVE MARKERS
Each army will need 3 objective markers. These should be modeled on 40mm bases.
CONVERSIONS AND PROXIES
The use of other models to represent models in the 40K galaxy is allowed (and even encouraged). Nothing is cooler than seeing conversion work that give an army a feel, a vibe, a uniqueness and theme.
Terracon will not be receiving sponsorship from Games Workshop, therefore models from other war-gaming companies may be acceptable under certain conditions, however some restrictions on proxies need to be observed. If the model is not produced by Games Workshop, then it will need tobe of equal or superior quality to the model it represents. For example, using a bag of toy soldiers bought from a $2 shop as Imperial Guardsmen will be unacceptable, and you will be asked to remove them from the table.Models and weapons MUST be easily recognizable, and must be identical dimensions and bases tothe GW model that they represent. If your opponent cant guess what the model represents without asking you, then it is probably unacceptable. If you are unsure about whether your models will be acceptable or not, please contact me via Facebook or PM on WAU and I will let you know.
SCORING SYSTEM
The following is a breakdown of the points that are awarded.
Battle points5 games each worth 20 points = 100 points
Composition/HandicapA score out of 50 = 50 points
Sportsmanship5 games each worth 6 points = 30 points
PaintingA score out of 20 = 20 points
Total200 points
The overall champion will be decided on the aggregate of the scores. In the event of a tie, count-back will be done by battlepoints, comp, sports, then painting, in that order.
MISSIONS
Missions will be designed around the 7th edition Rulebook. There will likely be 4 objective based missions and 1 kill point mission.2 missions with short table edge, 2 with long table edge, and 1 with diagonal deployment. Each mission will have a primary objective (normal Terracon mission style), and a secondary objective (similar to Maelstrom missions). At the start of the game you choose 5 from a list of 12 maelstrom-like missions that you believe you can complete during the game, this will be the secondary objectives (1 VP each). To give you an idea of what to expect from the list of secondary objectives, think along the lines ofmonster/tank killer, fliers, psykers, challenges, objective markers, first blood, warlord, linebreaker, combat, shooting, etc. Similar but not identical to the Maelstrom cards. The missions themselves will NOT be made public before the event.
BATTLE POINTS
Terracon will be using a system where the more VP you win by, the more BP you earn.Primary mission objective is worth 6 VP max. Secondary is 5 VP max.Maximum obtainable VP in a game is always 11. This is then converted to a BP score of 20-5.The chart will be provided on the mission sheet and made VERY easy to follow.
COMPOSITION/HANDICAP
Terracon will be using Community Comp, which can be downloaded at www.communitycomp.orgThe final version of the Community Comp document that will be used for Terracon will be the one released on (or close to) the 1st of May, and will include releases up to and including the Eldar 7th edition codex.
If you have any questions or difficulty in using the document, then please contact me and I will be happy to assist you.
PAINTING
Armies must be painted to enter Terracon.Painting scores will range from 0-20, depending on the skill and attention to detail that is displayed. Exact criteria for scoring is still being discussed with the paint judge, and the final criteria will be up to him. There is to be NO complaints about your paint scores. Paint judging is a difficult job to get 100% accurate, and the judge is not paid for what they do.Consistency is the main thing. If you feel your score is less than what you expected, then chances are everyone's was. Likewise if it is higher than you expected, then chances are everyone's was.
SPORTSMANSHIP
Sports will be worth 6 points per game, a total of 30 points, and is player judged after each game.3 – Excellent game! Look forward to playing against them at another event.2 – Average game. Not really fussed if I play against them at another event or not.1 – Poor game. There were a few issues and I'd prefer not to play them at another event.0 – Terrible game. I'd rather not play at all than have to play them.+1 – Opponent brought an army list, codex (digital is ok), dice, tape measure, templates, etc.+1 – Opponent knew the rules well and never tried to intentionally cheat.+1 – Opponent didn't intentionally slow-play.
