A Smooth & Successful Transition: First Day of School

• P1 students only report at 8.30 am on the first day of school.

• Dismissal is at 12 noon on the first day of school.

• Parents/Guardians will not be allowed into the school.

• P1/2021 students will not take school bus to and fro. Parents to make necessary arrangements.

• SCC will be in operation from Day 1, 2021.

• Students to wear School Uniform and mask.

• Wear lanyard given by school on Orientation Day.

• Bring the following items:• Story Book• Pencil Case• Water bottle• Extra Mask• Pocket Money ($1.20 - $2.00)• Snack (Optional)

• Start with the familiarisation of classroom environment and canteen routines.

• The class timetable will be given on the first day of school.

• P1 – P4 Buddy System during recess (TBC)

School Uniform + Name Tag

• School Uniform• To wear on days when there are no PE lessons or

PAL lessons

• Name tag must be sewn above the shirt pocket of the school uniform. (Please see picture on the right for reference.)

• As a guide, parents can buy 1 – 2 sets of the school uniform.

• After you have received a copy of our 2021 Student Handbook, do refer to it for more information on guidelines on school attire.

PAL – Programme for Active Learning

• PAL is part of the curriculum and offered during time-tabled time.

• In PAL@Anderson, students are exposed to varied and fun learning experiences in four domains: Sports and Games, Outdoor Education, Performing Arts (Music & Movement) and Visual Arts.

Form Teacher Guidance Period (FTGP)

• Through the FTGP, form teachers get to engage in quality interactions with their students and help them strengthen their social and emotional competencies.

• During FTGPs, there could be play activities between the form teacher and students to enhance bonding as well as the teaching of social and emotional learning (SEL) skills, which includes handling challenging situations and making responsible decisions.

• At 12 noon (Optional)

• Starting from 2021/P1, school only allows healthy snacks, including fruits, sandwich and nuts, to be consumed in the class

• Support ‘Zero Waste’ drive: to minimise food waste and single-use disposables (or packaging waste)

• Students can buy their snacks during recess time. They are not allowed to leave the classroom during Snack Time to purchase snacks at the canteen.

• This is for quick identification and safety.

• With effect from 2021, our Student Care Centre operator is Commit Learning Schoolhouse -https://andersonpri.moe.edu.sg/parents/student-care-centre

• Students attending Student Care Centre will be dismissed by their form teachers at the Basketball Court

• SCC teachers will take over to:• mark attendance• bring students to change into their SCC uniform• proceed for lunch at SCC

• Cars are allowed to enter school compound as long as drivers adhere to the speed limit at all times and display a school car decal on the windscreen.

• Please let us know if you need a serialised car decal by submitting an online form.

• Vehicles can start driving in after the following times:

FAQs

• Order of name tag• Order from bookshop• Expected date of delivery, end of December or even next year. The school

bookshop will work with the school/Form Teachers to distribute the name tags to students. Continue to wear the lanyard given in the mean time.

• Number of sets of Uniforms and PE Attire• PAL lessons (once a week) and PE lessons (3 times a week), buy 2-3 sets of PE

attire and 1-2 sets of uniforms.
