I have been interested in Drawing from early age and after graduating from School I decided to spend six months in an art academy. Currently I’m studying design and as a designer I know I have a big responsibility because every design is sending a messa-ge and generating culture. I’m fascinated by the idea that my designs can reflect the kind of person I want to be, playful, kind, innovative and brave. I want to be the kind of designer that gives meaning to things, sends a positive messages and above all cares about people. I like to make everyone feel like someone is really listening and trying to understand their needs. I like to do projects that are purely inspired by my life and my interests but I also really like to work as a team with designers, other professionals or users. I’m very careful and dedicated with everything I do and very passionate about my projects and I’m a former believer that design can change the world.

DESIGN PROCESS

A Brand that sells 100% leather bags and accesories inspired in my own childhood adventu-res. The name of the brands means the beautiful sun. The brand invites people to go back to their childhood. As the slogan says you should have “pastel dreams”, and see la vie en rose.

¿WHAT HAVE I DESIGNED? ¿HOW DID I BEGIN? We started with a comprehen-sive research of the leather industry in Colombia. We bought lots of leather samples, experimented with the mate-rial and visited a Tannery. Then we designed our own brand supported with 4 Mood-boards, one of the concept of the brand and three more each representing a di�erent colection.

This project has a more Fashion like approach , that means that I didn’y have an actual user but the idea of one, of a lifestyle.

The concept and branding applications of Sun’abelle, the design and especifica-tions of twelve accesories (.six bags and six acce-sories). Package design for the the purses, a low cost fabric prototype and a real 100% leather prototype, a photoshoot of the two proto-typed bags, a stand presen-ting the whole project and a very unique product.

DESIGN PROCESS

An Art Exposition that repre-sents the mood of the movie Stoker by Park Chang-Wook. We worked with printing on ceramic, natural plants arrange-ments, digital printed fabric, plaster, dried insects, painted wood, eggshells, and stones.

¿WHAT HAVE WE DESIGNED? ¿WHAT IS THE CONCEPT? We realized that in the movie everything seems very neat and organized but there is always something rotted inside, specia-lly concerning the characters. We wanted to work with this concept and reflected this idea using layers. Everything inside seems white and dull on the surface but you discover dark organic things on the indide.

A Colombian Food Design Experience inspired by the movie

A Food Experience Design where every sensory element helps to build the story of the context in which an specific dish emerged. We worked with Typical Colombian Food and designed every aspect of the enviroment without changing the original recipe.

¿WHAT HAVE WE DESIGNED? ¿HOW DID WE BEGIN? We analyzed all the aesthetical aspects of Frank Miller’s Sin City Movie. Later we made moodboards that represented the principal concepts of the themes. We synthetized all the information in an “Art Book” composed by graphic composi-tion. These-- compositions were made with the same images we used in the moodboards.

We identified a group of Foodies that take a special interest in Typical Food of di�erent coun-tries. Instead of looking to the new hot place these users are searching for experiences that helps them understand the way a di�erent cultures approachs to food. When they travel they go to small towns and local markets.

We did not prototype the final design with the user but before knowing what approach to take we designed some “Food Tests” and prototyped some food interactions with some of them to have a better understanding of how they could react to unusual ways to experience food. Some of our guests are very popular in the Food Indus-try in Bogotá, like José Pajares; the owner of the most traditional restaurant in the city.

The “Art Book” is a collection of graphic compositions made with the work of di�erent artists that put together represent the concept of the movie. I tampered with the images and designed the compositions but I don’t own the rights of the original elements. Biblography and original images at the end of the portfolio.

The final design

In Colombia there’s a lot of lost little towns recognized by being transi-tional places with lots of violence and no justice. We recognized common themes with the movie and used the same visual resources to generate a simmlar atmosphere. We chose three distinctive dishes that emerged from these places (or non-places) and presented them with Food Styling, placed in a 1:1 scaled Shop Window proposal .For exam-ple the fish is a Red Snapper a fish generally eaten in Colombia by the rich people. The yellow sauce is representing the corruption and the newspaper represents the control of the media. This dish is very popu-lar in the Colombian coast.

A campaign for a race which main purpose is to invite new users to enjoy the tourist attrac-tions of their own city. The race’s name is “Breath Bogotá” The project mostly consists in beau-tiful photographs taken in the hills of Monserrate and Guada-lupe.

¿WHAT HAVE WE DESIGNED? ¿HOW DID WE BEGIN? Monserrate and Guadalupe are two very distinctive mountains in Bogotá, mostly known becau-se they are pilgrim destinations and great places to exercise. The hills rise around 3100 meters. Almost 3 million people go up every year, most of them are tourists and some are professio-nal athletes.

Young non-professional athletes of Bogotá. Mostly people who practice a high impact sport such as CrossFit and can run up hill. CrossFit has a very consoli-dated community in Bogota and users are always looking for extreme challenges to test their strenght and show everyone what they can do.

To see what the users had to say we organized an open event to prototype the experience and identify the principal touch- points. We o�ered a free week in a CrossFit gym as the winning price and publicize the event through the social networks of known CrossFiters such as Alejandro Guarin, we had posters in a few CrossFi gyms and 31 persons accepted the “Breath Bogotá” challenge.

We walked/runned to the top of the hill around sixteen times to know the actual users and really understand the experience and how we could improve it.

The final result is a design proposal for a race in the Hills of Moserrate and Guadalupe that invites young Bogotans to get to know their own city. The success of the prototype helped us think of the possibility of presenting the idea to a brand like Reebok that specializes in CrossFit clohing and could turn the race into a publicity campaign.

I designed this logo for an organization in Houston, Texas. The organization seeks to help people that have disabled children and are economically disad-vantaged. The main purpose is to change their lives with a financial aid and have a real loving connec-tion with them. The logo attempts to communicate how love can bloom in the hardest circumstances , through the ups and downs of life.
