Transferred to Huntercombe PE Department from Pentonville in 2002. PESO in 2003. PE staff redeployed daily

Aims: To keep PEI’s in the Gym. Make PE a function management did not want

to close. Objectives: Comply fully with PSO/PSI. Ofsted/HMCIP. Courses, taster, leaders, GCSE & level 1 to level 4 Personal Trainers assigned to units. Increase gym use, target non users. Healthcare/substance missue/remedials/wellman. Royal College of Psychiatry Enabling Environment Award.

Outcomes: Many prisoners in fitness industry. 90% attendance. Redeployment/acting down lower than many other Prisons.

Future: Continue producing industry standard qualifications Devise a system of tracking Prisoners who enter the fitness

industry when they are released.
