Golden Ratio(Devine Proportion)-perfection◦ 1.618

People gain more respect the better they appear and the better jobs they have

Page 4: Angel and Demon Effect: Does Appearance Affect Reactions?

If a person appears better then they will get more respect from people. But when photos are not used then the higher the income the more people will like the “unphotographed” person.

Independent Variable-connecting the job descriptions with pictures of the people

Dependent Variable-the people’s reactions as to how they compare the job descriptions with the person

1-Using the internet, I found some photographs of some guys and create job descriptions with their annual income. The faces either followed the golden ratio of brow, eyes, nose, and mouth or not.

2-I will ask certain students (all females) to complete a

survey in which they are ranking the options (Photo, job, or both combined) in the order of attractiveness.

3-I presented them all the photos, all the job descriptions, or both with certain jobs linked to certain people.

4-After completing all of the surveys, I compared the photo ranks along with the job ranks and saw the differences.

As a conclusion, you can tell that most people ranked their options based on appearance, not necessarily basing it on the jobs given. However, the appearances varied per person and did not necessarily following the golden ratio. Perfection is different for each person.
