• Their father, Cronus, swallowed them whole before Zeus was born. When Zeus was older he convinced Cronus to puke them all back up. Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades divided creation. Zeus took the heavens, so he gave Poseidon the sea and Hades the underworld.
