Key Highlights
Convinced a judge set on leaving a minor child with his grandmother to return a four year child to
the biological father after maternal grandparents refused to turn the child over to the father when
the mother died claiming abandonment.
Successfully argued against placing children in foster-care where the judge admitted that, at the
onset of the shelter hearing, he had already determined that the children would be taken out of the
parents’ home.
Recovered over $500,000 for an elderly client when a “family friend” took advantage of client and
the client’s daughter who had brain cancer by convincing the incompetent women to name the
“family friend” as a beneficiary to bank and investment accounts.
Negotiated a favorable settlement agreement for my client when I pointed out to opposing counsel
that when the commercial landlord’s agent undertook to translate the parties’ contract into Spanish
leaving out pertinent portions of the contract, his client essentially waived their right to recover for
breach of said portions of the contract. Said affirmative defense was also made against a
commercial truck leasing company which resulted in a total abandonment of the claim.
