Page 1: Animal Shelter in Maryland - Print Quality

A consistent, foul smell near floors, walls, ceilings or vents in your building could mean there is a crack in a sanitary pipe. When this animal shelter had a lingering, bad stench from an inaccessible, cracked main, Nu Flow provided the customer with an innovative, nondestructive solution that only took one night to complete.

Project: Use Nu Drain to rehabilitate an underground sewer main without causing destruction to the above building.

Site: An animal shelter in Maryland.

System: A 4" diameter, cast iron, pressurized sewer main for an animal shelter. The main is located 15 feet below ground and runs through the animal shelter’s basement wall and ceiling.

Problem: This sewer main had a crack, which leaked sewage through a basement wall. The stench of the sewage was sucked in through the vents and made the facility smell like sewage. The employees at the animal shelter knew that this problem had to be resolved quickly, but the crack was located 15 feet below the entrance of the building. Since the main runs through the basement wall’s foundation, the customer looked for an in-situ pipe rehabilitation solution.

Circumvention: If the customer had chosen a traditional repipe instead of Nu Flow’s in-place technology, the project would have been severely destructive and disruptive. First, the entrance to the building would be dug up, creating a 15-foot pit to access the main. A repipe project would probably take several weeks and the shelter would probably have to close its doors to the public during the construction. It is obvious why the customer did not choose this disruptive, messy and time-consuming process.

Solution: Nu Flow’s skilled drain technicians rehabilitated this underground main within one night, after the shelter’s business hours. First, the technicians cleaned the drain pipes using Nu Flow’s pneumatic tools. Then, Nu Flow’s unique Nu Drain system was installed using push rods. Through a single access point, the epoxy-soaked structural liner was pushed into place and then left to cure for a few hours. This patented, in-place solution prevented any destruction or disruption to the animal shelter.

Nu Flow has the innovative solutions and expertise to rehabilitate inaccessible pipelines and mains, especially those located underground or those that run through foundation. Why pay more for an inconvenient, messy repipe that will cause business closures? Choose Nu Flow’s patented, Pull-in-Place Nu Drain system for your property’s drain, waste, sewer and vent pipeline repairs.

Nu Flow’s patented Nu Drain System can be installed using one or two access points, preventing any damage

to the building or property, as well as preventing business disruptions.
