Welcome to HMCS ONTARIO Cadet Training Centre
1. Introduction to HMCS ONTARIO a. HMCS ONTARIO is located at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMCC), and boasts a long
tradition of naval training for sea cadets from all over Canada.
2. Location a. Once through the main gates of the RMCC, follow signage for “HMCS ONTARIO”.
3. Additional Kist List for Sailing Courses a. Sea Cadets enrolled in Sailing or Seamanship Courses, please check the attached
supplementary kit list when packing for course, in addition to the items listed in the Common CTC
Cadet Kit List.
Amenities
4. Canteen a. HMCS ONTARIO has a cadet canteen, which is accessible during off-training hours for use.
Cadets can purchase snacks, hygiene products, polishing supplies, and souvenirs.

5. Laundry Services a. HMCS ONTARIO has a laundry service, which is available to all cadets. It is expected that
cadets will look after their personal hygiene at all times, which includes having their clothes washed.
6. Cadet Bank a. HMCS ONTARIO has a Cadet Bank
service available. Please check with your course
staff to find out how to access it during off-
training hours.
7. Accommodations a. HMCS ONTARIO houses cadets in
dormitory-style rooms for the duration of the
summer, at the RMCC. Accommodations may
be made for cadets identifying as transgender, depending on the location and the comfort level of all
members.
b. Cadet accommodations do not have air conditioning. Cadets are encouraged to bring a small
clip-on or desk fan for their personal comfort.
Visiting HMCS ONTARIO
8. Visitor Access a. Access to HMCS ONTARIO / RMCC is restricted to authorized personnel only.
b. Guests attending special ceremonies or course graduations will be required to produce
photo identification upon arrival at the training centre.
9. Parking and Accessibility a. Parking is limited, so please arrive
early.
b. Anyone with accessibility or
mobility needs may make arrangements for
transport or additional parking (subject to
availability).

Appendix 1 – Supplementary Kit List Sea Cadets who are attending a Sailing or Seamanship Course may require additional kit to be packed for the
summer. Please refer to the list below, in addition to the Kit List provided with your Joining Instructions.
Supplementary Kit List ESSENTIAL ITEMS
Nalgene-style Water Bottle (x1) Wool/Synthetic Socks (x10)
Hat, wide-brimmed (x1) Swimsuit (x2)
Sunglasses, with floating strap (x1) Wrist Watch (x1)
Dark-Coloured T-Shirt (x3) Black Shorts (x3)
Sailing Gloves (x1) Water Shoes* (x1)
Closed-toed Running Shoes, Spare (x1)
Seamans / Rigging knives equipped with a “sheepsfoot” or other “no-tip” blade under 4 inches in length are acceptable for cadets attending six-week sailing or seamanship courses at HMCS ONTARIO.
* Water Shoes must have a strap around the ankle. No Crocs or flip-flops.
