Rapidly increasing burden of noncommunicable diseases, reemergence of certain communicable diseases, and challenges related to epidemic/pandemics with newer and newer agents reemphasize the need for highest priority to public health approaches. All these problems are most often associated with unhealthy lifestyle and exploitation of nature by human action leading to adverse climate changes. To design effective policies and programs more and more interaction is now necessary among academicians, researchers and activists from all relevant disciplines.

Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS), sponsored by the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh, is conducting Masters Programs in various public health disciplines with support from the NOMA Program of the University of Oslo. As a part of the overall objective of this collaboration to stimulate multidisciplinary academic and research activities in public health with a regional approach, the present Conference has been organized to foster interaction among the stakeholders in the field. BUHS plans to continue with the future organization of the Series with suggestions and recommendations generated from the present Conference.

We extend our sincere invitation to you for participating in the Conference.
