LIFE-CHANGING EDUCATION THROUGH BURSARIES

“ Attending Morrison’s Academy turned my world around and gave me an opportunity in life to go on and do things I would never have dreamed of.” Amanda Brock, Former Pupil

We believe that bursaries present the most effective and direct way to transform lives. Giving a child, regardless of their background, access to the best education possible is what we’re about. Creating a culture of learning and giving, within a varied social mix, has always been part of our heritage. We support over 45 children on means-tested bursaries currently, with demand for a place at Morrison’s Academy increasing rapidly. Annual Giving supports these children. We are also working to create an endowment fund that will enable us to offer reduced fees consistently for the long term.

DEVELOPMENT OF FACILITIES

“ Every building and classroom is here only thanks to the kindness of others. We should always remember that.” John Anderson, Parent

Sport

We have plans to develop Dallerie into a Centre of Excellence for sport. The first phase of this development will be the creation of an artificial turf pitch for hockey. A major donation from a former pupil has been pledged to support this development and the school has committed to invest at least 50% of the capital costs of the project.

Science Laboratories

We are currently redeveloping our science laboratories and have plans to transform all six of them. We have already completed our first laboratory and children are now learning using the latest equipment and facilities.

Modern Languages

We wish to enhance the teaching and learning of modern languages by installing a language laboratory using specially designed technology to encourage children to develop skills and a passion for modern languages.

Annual Giving continues to make a difference to lives of children at Morrison’s Academy. We have raised over £200,000 since the launch of our Campaign in 2011 and funds have been invested in many areas including the provision of life-changing bursaries. Additional projects have benefitted every child: Art and sports provision; a concert series; play equipment for the Nursery; SMART Boards; equipment for new clubs; a fitness suite; a recording studio, and much more.We are grateful to the many former pupils, parents and friends of the school who have helped us to develop our school and to provide opportunities for young people who are now receiving an education at Morrison’s Academy thanks to their generosity.

Together we can do more.

Our vision remains to offer talented children access to life-changing education and to provide nothing less than the best facilities we can for every child.

TOGETHER WE ARE

MORRISON’SACADEMY.
