Dear Members of our Association, Visiting Faculty and Guests:

The end of my Presidency is near. Thank you very much for the privilege of serving as President of the Puerto Rico Urology Association during 2010. It has been a great honor for me.

As I look back over the year, we continue to face larger threats due to the economy crisis and changes in the healthcare system. In spite of the obstacles, we’ve made progress. I see all the good experiences I share and the importance of commitment between past and future generations. It is more effective working together rather than working alone.

It is our 61st anniversary. On my behalf and the Board of Directors we !"#$%"&'($)&$%"#*#+)$!$*,-#+)-.,$%"&/"!0$)1!)$,&2#"*$!33$)&%-,*$4-)1$)1#$highest standards as you all deserve. In addition we have prepared excellent social events for the enjoyment of all members and guests.

I will like to dedicate this event to my father and mentor, Dr. Juan I. Medina Torres. Thank you for showing me the ethics and how to achieve excellence in the Urology practice.

This job would have been unmanageable if not for the assistance and insight of my Board of Directors, Dr. José Maymí, Dr. Jorge Crespo and Dr. Gilberto Ruíz, our Executive Secretary, Aixa Vélez and my wife Bonnie.
