For the third year, the FITA Office is pleased to inform you about its activities through our Annual Report. As the President of FITA, I believe that we should maintain well-prepared communication with our stakeholders, that is you, our Member Associations.

As you know, FITA has a very dynamic Strategic Plan, and connection is a key element

for this plan. Of course, your contributions to and participation in this plan are essential

for any success that we will achieve.

The FITA staff is very proud of the services they are able to provide to our members and

they are working very hard toward this goal. I would like to thank all of them for their

great effortand of course, my special thanks to our Secretary General, Tom Dielen, for

his leadership and communication with all international sports bodies. I am very happy

that the FITA Office is walking down a very productive path; and that we have become a

good example for some other organisations.

This Annual Report is presented to you as a summary of the important events, develop-

ments, and significant progress FITA has made as an organisation during . The year

was very important for FITA as we formulated our Strategic Plan, presented it to

Congress for approval, and then began the important steps outlined in our plan. We

involved people from around the world in the preparation of the Strategic Plan and we

are again seeking and utilizing the expertise of our members in the form of Focus Groups

that develop the ideas and direction our Strategic Plan will take. I want to thank you all

for your work and contributions to this effort.

Our Annual Report is one of our official means of communication with our Member As-

sociations. I hope you enjoy reading the information contained herein. This information

is about all of us and shows the road we have chosen that will ultimately lead to the

realization of our goals.

Le bureau de la FITA vous informe de ses activits dans ce Rapport Annuel pour la troi-sime fois. En tant que Prsident de la FITA, je crois que nous devons avoir une communi-cation bien prpare et organise avec nos Associations Membres et nos partenaires. Comme

vous le savez, la FITA a un Plan Stratgique trs dynamique et la connexion est un des

lments cl de ce plan. Aussi, vos contributions et participations sont essentielles pour tous

les buts que nous atteindrons.

Les employs de la FITA sont fiers des services quils peuvent fournir nos membres et ils

travaillent trs dur pour y arriver. Jaimerais remercier chacun deux pour leurs grands efforts.

Bien videmment, mes remerciements spciaux vont notre Secrtaire Gnral, Tom Dielen,

pour son leadership, ainsi que pour ses relations avec toutes les associations internationales

sportives. Je suis trs content que le bureau de la FITA marche sur un chemin trs productif et

que nous sommes devenus un exemple pour dautres organisations.

Ce Rapport Annuel vous est prsent comme un rsum des vnements importants, des

dveloppements, et de tout progrs que la FITA a fait en tant quorganisation en 2007. Ce fut

une anne importante pour la FITA puisque nous avons formul notre Plan Stratgique. Il a t

prsent au Congrs pour approbation, puis nous avons ensuite dbut les actions importan-

tes mentionnes dans notre plan. Nous avons impliqu des personnes de toutes les rgions du

monde dans la prparation du Plan Stratgique et nous utilisons encore lexprience de nos

membres sous forme des Groupes de Discussion qui dveloppent les ides et directions de

It has become a regular feature of our Communication Department to produce an annual report. This report permits FITAs administration to give feedback on the most important activities from the last year. Upon reviewing 2007, the main purpose was to consolidate the

new projects of 2007 and to work on their quality. The Congress in Leipzig also gave us the

first opportunity to have feedback from our Member Associations.

B. FITA Events

The main lessons to be drawn from these events are:

For 2007, the topics of ticket sales and local promotion have been given more

attention. Leipzig has proven that, if an organizer prepares the promotional campaign

and the spectator services well, Archery event tickets can be sold out. The level of

local promotion, for most of the events, was still the weakest point and this has been

addressed with the 2008 organisers.

Standardization of the events program for the preliminary stages of the competition

has given us more flexibility for TV coverage in the final stages. This resulted in the

best-ever distribution of Archery images; and we received very positive feedback from

the European Broadcasting Union and broadcasters.

Cest devenu une habitude pour le dpartement de la communication de produire un rapport annuel. Ce rapport permet ladministration de la FITA de faire un compte rendu des activits de lanne coule. Le but principal de 2007 tait de consolider les nouveaux projets de 2007 et de travailler sur

la qualit. Le Congrs de Leipzig nous a aussi donn la premire occasion de rassembler les ractions

de nos Associations Membres.

Leipzig a prouv que si lorganisateur effectue une bonne prparation de la campagne publicitaire

et des services aux spectateurs, il peut y avoir des guichets ferms en tir larc. Le niveau de

promotion locale dans la plupart des vnements tait le point faible, et cela a t bien transmis

aux organisateurs 2008.

La standardisation du programme des vnements pour les tapes prliminaires de la

comptition nous a donn plus de flexibilit avec la couverture TV pour les tapes finales. Cela a

eu pour rsultat une meilleure distribution dimages de tir larc et nous avons reu des ractions

trs positives de lEuropean Broadcasting Union et dautres diffuseurs.

C. FITA O ce

The FITA office has had one change in staffMayi Cruz Blanco left at the end of October

and Deqa Hussen from Somalia took her place. Also, Sandrine Blatter has been on

maternity leave but she was not replaced during that period.

D. IOC Relations & FITA as Part of the Olympic Movement

FITAs relations with the IOC and Olympic Family have continued to improve. This was

clearly evident by the very positive feedback received during the ASOIF development

forum. FITA continuously works on implementing IOC policies in matters ranging from the

protection of the environment to the integration of women in sport.

C. Bureau de la FITA

Le bureau de la FITA a connu un changement avec le dpart de Mayi Cruz Blanco la fin octobre et

son remplacement par Deqa Hussen, de la Somalie. Sandrine Blatter a t en cong maternit mais

na pas t remplace durant son absence.

D. Relations CIO/FITA en tant que partie du Mouvement Olympique

Les relations de la FITA avec le CIO et la famille olympique ont continu de samliorer. Cela tait

vident au vu des ractions trs positives reues lors du forum de lASOIF pour le dveloppement.

La FITA travaille continuellement la mise en pratique des politiques du CIO en ce qui concerne des

sujets allant de la protection de lenvironnement lintgration des femmes dans le sport.

La FITA continue dessayer dtre parmi les premires Fdrations Internationales innover et

poursuivra dans cette voie. Les progrs avec le BOCOG (Pkin 2008) et le LOCOG (Londres 2012)

sont en bonne voie, et lpreuve test nous a fourni de prcieuses informations pour Pkin. La

FITA continues to try to be among the first International Federations to innovate and will

continue to do so. Progress with BOCOG (Beijing 2008) and LOCOG (London 2012) are well

underway and the test event gave us valuable information for Beijing. The cooperation with

BOCOG is excellent. We are sure that the open issues will be resolved prior to the Games.

The main concern is sports presentation.

FITA is also pleased with the progress of the promotional campaign launched at Lords in

preparation for 2012.

E. FITA and the Future

Although this report is about the past year, the FITA Office, on the request of the FITA

President, has continued to prepare for the future. In cooperation with TSE Consulting, we

have finalized the work on a strategic plan for the period 2007-2012, which was presented

and accepted in Leipzig during the Congress. At the end of 2007, we implemented our

strategic plan, which is a new challenge to FITA.

I would like to finish this introduction by thanking the FITA President, the FITA Executive

Committee members and Council for their excellent cooperation with the FITA Office. The

Presidents dedication and tremendous commitment to the development of our sport is

very much appreciated. I also congratulate him on his much deserved nomination as Rector

of the Hacettepe University. My thanks also go to our entire Event and Development Team.

I would like to conclude by thanking Chantal, Caroline, Franoise, Ludivine, Deqa, Sandrine,

Juan Carlos, Didier and Pascal for their great effort and contribution to the work and

success of the office.

E. La FITA et le futur

Bien que ce rapport concerne lanne qui vient de passer, le Bureau de la FITA, sur

demande du Prsident, a continu se prparer pour le futur. En coopration avec TSE

Consulting, nous avons finalis le travail sur un plan stratgique pour la priode 2007-2012,

travail qui a t prsent et accept Leipzig durant le Congrs. Nous avons aussi

commenc la fin 2007 sa mise en application, qui a t un nouveau dfi pour la FITA.

Jaimerais terminer cette introduction en remerciant le Prsident de la FITA, les membres

du Comit excutif et le Conseil pour leur excellente coopration avec le Bureau de la

FITA. Le dvouement du Prsident et son norme engagement dans le dveloppement

de notre sport sont trs apprcis. Jaimerais aussi le fliciter pour sa nomination

en tant que Recteur de lUniversit Hacettepe, quil a amplement mrite. Mes

remerciements vont aussi nos quipes des dpartements des vnements et du

T he year 2007 has been a very exciting and successful year in terms of events. The following report summarizes the highlights of each event and provides a comprehensive picture of the Events Department within FITA.

A. World Cup 2007

The Meteksan Archery World Cup 2007 has been successful and has achieved most of the

goals FITA established at the conclusion of the 2006 season. The weak points discovered in

2006 have been improved in 2007, and the World Cup circuit is thriving.

We have been very successful in various areas such as TV distribution and Archery

visibility worldwide through our highlights with many new countries, areas and regions.

NOTE: Please refer to the Marketing & Communications report for more information.

Lets take a look at our World Cup events in 2007.

a) Ulsan (KOR) Stage

The KAA and the local organizers, City of Ulsan and Regional authorities, delivered an

exceptional event. This was the first World Cup Stage and it was important to start with a

good event.

The finals in Leipzig were a proof that archery can have excitement and spectators in high number when a proper promotion is done.

Le circuit de Coupe du Monde Meteksan de tir larc a t un succs et a atteint la

plupart des objectifs que la FITA avait tablis la fin de la saison . Les points faibles

dcouverts en ont t amliors, permettant ainsi un beau succs en .

Diffrents domaines ont obtenu dexcellents rsultats, tels que la distribution TV et la

visibilit du tir larc au niveau mondial travers nos temps forts (nombreuses zones, rgions

et nouveaux pays). NOTE: veuillez vous en rfrer au rapport de la communication et du

marketing pour de plus amples dinformations.

Nous vous proposons ci-dessous une vue densemble de nos diffrents vnements de Coupe

du Monde en .

a) Ulsan (KOR) Etape

KAA et les organisateurs locaux (Ville dUlsan et autorits rgionales) ont fourni une

prestation dun trs haut niveau pour cette Premire Etape de Coupe du Monde. Il tait

important de dbuter lanne avec un bon vnement. Cela a t le cas, et nous pouvons

relever des points trs positifs, tels que:

Emplacement (excellent site de tir larc, avec toutes les installations et les espaces

ncessaires)

CO local (une quipe unie avec des dfinitions claires des fonctions: KAA-Ville-Rgion

et la FITA). Excellent travail dquipe et superbe collaboration dmontrant la faon

Certains points ont nanmoins besoin de dveloppement pour les Championnats du Monde 200

Ulsan:

b) Varse (ITA) Etape

Cette Coupe du Monde a prsent bien des dfis. Lorganisation particulire par son Prsident

de Comit dOrganisation a fait de cet vnement le plus mauvais que nous ayons connu jusqu

prsent. La FITA a travaill trs dur pour tenter de changer la situation, malheureusement

avec trs peu de succs. Les raisons principales ont t le manque de planification, la

volont manifeste de ne pas couter les conseils de la FITA et le manque total de partage

dinformations. Le fait que la FITA nait pas t implique dans le processus dcisionnel

lors de lallocation de lvnement de Coupe du Monde en Europe a entran limplication

dorganisateurs qui souhaitaient prparer un Grand Prix de lEMAU et qui ont t obligs

dorganiser un vnement de Coupe du Monde. Ces deux vnements ont non seulement un

but totalement diffrent, mais ncessitent galement une approche et une manire diffrente

dinvestir le budget. Malgr le fait que dexcellents experts du tir larc se trouvent en Italie,

pays qui organise dordinaire des vnements de tir larc de haut standard, Varse ntait pas

au niveau prvu et attendu pour une manifestation organise en Italie.

Les points positifs que lon peut citer sont:

Limplication du sponsor local (Hippodrome, Kia, etc.)

La diffusion TV et la couverture en direct par la RAI

Lattitude et les matchs des archers

La position leve du stand du directeur des tirs

Limage positive de notre sport montre dans tous les temps forts de Varse

Les domaines qui ont besoin damlioration sont:

Peu de spectateurs (manque de promotion locale, pas de billetterie)

Les terrains pour les preuves de qualification et dlimination (un vrai lac ) ne

correspondaient pas aux standards de Coupe du Monde

Logement (cher, avec des standards qui ne correspondaient pas aux tarifs de lhtel)

Equipement IT (audio, cran vido, Internet, etc.)

Cot lev (finance dinscription, htels, repas, etc.)

b) Varese (ITA) Stage

This was a very challenging World Cup Stage. The special organization and handling of

this event by the President of the OC turned this event into the lowest quality World Cup

event we have had so far. FITA tried very hard to change this situation with little success.

The main reasons that led to the problems werethe lack of planning, not heeding FITAs

advice, lack of communication and not sharing information. FITA was not involved in the

decision on the allocation of the World Cup event in Europe, which resulted in organizers

wishing to hold an EMAU Grand Prix and being forced to organize a World Cup event. These

two events have totally different goals, approaches and different budget allocations.

Despite the fact that there are excellent archery experts and there have been very high-

standard archery events in Italy, Varese was not at that level and fell short of expectations

for Italy.

la FITA souhaite travailler avec un comit dorganisation local, cest--dire en esprit de

Dover was a challenging event in some very

specific areas. The collaboration with the Local

Organizing Committee (LOC) was excellent.

This was one of the first times that a LOC hired

Douvres a offert quelques dfis dans des domaines bien spcifiques. La collaboration

avec le Comit dOrganisation Local (COL) a t excellente. Pour la premire fois, un COL

a engag une compagnie externe pour organiser la logistique et la partie directive de cet

vnement. Cela a mis en exergue quelques points positifs et ngatifs.

e) Dubai World Cup Final

The World Cup Final event was organized on 24 November in Dubai, in the worldwide

famous Madinat Jumeirah Hotel, with the iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel (7-star hotel) as

background for our targets. The organization and preparation of this Final became very

challenging when our local partner, Star Events, whose involvement and support was the

main reason for going to Dubai, withdrew from this project in July, placing FITA in a difficult

positionloss of sponsorship, no local partner, no local support, no local promotion, etc.

As the venue and the hotel were already arranged, and FITA had done all the international

promotion of Dubai for the event; it was decided to keep the Finals in this city. FITA started

to contact local authorities and asked them for support. The answer received was positive

and FITA started working with HRH Princess Hayas Office (Event Department) and the

Dubai Sports Council for the preparation of this very important event. FITA also found a

good event management company to assist us locally with the logistics. FITAs partner,

WGT (GBR), arranged accommodation and travel.

The event was a great success in many ways; and FITA gained understanding and

knowledge for future World Cup Finals of the highest standard.

Dola Banerjee, from India, took the World Cup Title in the Recurve Women division. She

beat the Korean Choi Eun Young in a tight and exciting match on a 70-meter floating

platform built at the Madinat Jumeirah Souk venue. In Men Recurve the best archer of the

season, Russian Baljinima Tsyrempilov, won over the young and promising Mexican Juan

Rene Serrano. In the Compound category, Petra Ericsson of Sweden (who was pregnant)

lextraordinaire Htel Burj al Arab (lhtel 7 toiles ). Lorganisation et la prparation

de cette finale sont devenues trs difficiles lorsque notre partenaire local (Star Events),

dont limplication et le soutien taient alors les raisons principales pour aller Duba, sest

retir du projet en juillet. La FITA sest ainsi retrouve dans une situation dlicate (perte

de sponsors, aucun partenaire, soutien ou promotion locale, etc.).

Le lieu et lhtel ayant dj t organiss, la FITA avait ralis toute la promotion

internationale en mentionnant Duba. La dcision a donc t prise de maintenir les finales

dans cette ville. La FITA a tabli le contact avec les autorits locales en leur demandant

leur soutien. La rponse a t positive et la FITA a pu travailler conjointement avec le

bureau de SAS le Princesse Haya (dpartement des vnements) et le Conseil des Sports

de Duba afin de prparer cet vnement trs important. La FITA a galement mandat une

bonne compagnie dorganisation dvnements afin de lassister localement la logistique.

Le logement et les voyages ont t arrangs par notre partenaire WGT (GBR).

Dans bien des domaines, lvnement a t un grand succs. Il a fourni la FITA un bon

niveau danalyse et de comptences afin de projeter les objectifs les plus levs pour les

prochaines ditions de la Finale de la Coupe du Monde.

Pour le futur, la FITA a tabli un nouveau concept pour dsigner les emplacements de

finales de Coupe du Monde. En collaboration avec TSE Consulting, la FITA a inaugur un

nouveau processus de candidature pour les finales de Coupe du Monde pour 2010 et 2011

dans le but dattirer des candidatures de la part des villes. Le but est de trouver des

sponsors et des candidatures fortes pour cet vnement, afin de pouvoir mettre sur pied

un grand show et des vnements un moindre cot pour la FITA. Ce nouveau processus

a t lanc en novembre 2007 et des dossiers de candidats potentiels sont dj parvenus

depuis.

Pour 2008, le lieu o se tiendra la finale de la Coupe du Monde est encore sujet

dcision. Lintention initiale dorganiser cette manifestation Delhi en conjonction avec

les Championnats du Monde de la Jeunesse a chang: la FITA a dcid de retirer cet

vnement de Delhi au dbut 2008. Une dcision sera prise durant la premire moiti de la

saison.

La ville de Copenhague est intresse lorganisation des finales de Coupe du Monde en

2012, quelques jours seulement avant la Session du CIO. Le Prsident de la Fdration

A legacy in Dubai, such as a venue for Archery or National Archery Federation, is not a

possibility

FITA has established a new concept for selecting locations for future World Cup Finals.

In collaboration with TSE Consulting, FITA has launched a bidding process for cities

interested in the World Cup Finals for 2010 and 2011. The goal is to get sponsors and

strong bids, and to deliver a great show, which promotes the city and, at the same time,

lowers the cost of the event for FITA. The bidding process was opened in November 2007

and applications and potential candidates have been contacting FITA since then.

The venue for the World Cup Final 2008 has not been decided. The intention to organize it in

New Delhi in conjunction with the Youth World Championship has changedFITA decided

early in 2008 to withdraw the event from this city. The new place will be decided during the

first half of the 2008 season.

The city of Copenhagen will organize the World Cup Final in 200, just a few days before

the IOC Session. To guarantee a successful event in Copenhagen, the President of the

Danish Archery Federation was in Dubai during the World Cup Final 2007, to get first-hand

knowledge for the LOC.

B. Preparation for the events in 2008

a) Organizers Seminar st step of the preparation

In September 2007 FITA organized the FITA Events Organizer Seminar & Workshop in

Lausanne. Teamwork from the very beginning is critical to delivering and offering a

successful event.

Key persons from the 2008 events were invited. For days, specialists with expertise

in events provided knowledge and presentations (with documentation) to our future

organizers.

In the future, this Seminar will need to be revised, as some of the organizers in 200, 2010

and 2011 will already have organized a World Cup event and will not need the same amount

and level of knowledge repeated.

C. World Championships

a) Indoor World Championships Izmir (TUR)

This indoor world event took place in Izmir (TUR), 1-17 March, and was the first major

event of the archery season. In the modern Izmir Kltrpark Hall, more than 0 archers

competed for the titles of World Champion in both the Senior and the Junior categories.

The impressive size of the Hall that the OC managed to provide was the first step towards

a successful event.

The Indoor World Championships are too large in terms of number of participants for most

of the halls available for our sport. This is one of the main reasons preventing several

potential organizers from bidding for this championship. In addition, the necessity to get

outdoor events on the calendar along with the World Cup stages has forced the Indoor

a) Sminaire des organisateurs premire tape de la prparation

En septembre 2007, la FITA a organis son Sminaire & Sance de travail des

Organisateurs dEvnements FITA annuel Lausanne.

Des personnes cls de chaque vnement organis en 2008 ont t invites ce sminaire.

Ce type de runions a prouv que travailler ensemble ds le dbut est lune des cls

de la mise sur pied dun vnement russi. Durant jours, nos experts en vnements

de diffrents domaines ont partag leurs connaissances et prsentations (avec de la

documentation) aux futurs organisateurs.

A lavenir, ce sminaire aura besoin de quelques ajustements et dune approche diffrente,

car certains organisateurs pour 200, 2010 et 2011 auront dj lexprience dun

vnement de Coupe du Monde et nauront donc pas besoin dacqurir un mme niveau de

connaissances que les nouveaux venus.

Cet vnement mondial en salle a eu lieu Izmir (TUR) du 1 au 17 mars. Il sagissait

du premier vnement majeur de la saison de tir larc. Dans le hall moderne Izmir

Kltrpark, plus de 0 archers ont concouru pour les titres de champions du monde

dans les catgories seniors et juniors. La taille impressionnante de la salle que le

Comit dOrganisation a fournie tait la premire garantie dun vnement russi.

Les Championnats du Monde en Salle deviennent trop importants face au nombre de

participants, et en tenant compte des halles disponibles pour notre sport. Cela est lune

des raisons principales qui empchent diffrents organisateurs potentiels de soumettre

leur candidature pour ce championnat. De plus, la ncessit davoir davantage de

disponibilit dans le calendrier des vnements lextrieur avec lajout des tapes de

Coupe du Monde astreint le droulement des Championnats du Monde en Salle au mois de

fvrier.

La trs exprimente Fdration Turque de tir larc, avec le soutien de la ville dIzmir et

du club local de tir larc, a dlivr un vnement trs russi aux archers du monde entier.

Izmir, ville frue de sport qui avait organis les Universiades dt en 2008, a accueilli des

acteurs du tir larc issus du monde entier et a fourni un vnement moderne et de qualit.

Les participants ont apprci deux innovations Izmir. La premire tait la possibilit

de garder lquipement de tir larc dans les espaces ddis la pratique du sport

et prpars spcifiquement pour chaque quipe, permettant ainsi aux archers de

rentrer pied leur htel (la distance tant proche), sans avoir besoin de porter leurs

lourdes valises darc. La seconde tait le terrain pour les finales, une salle charmante

spcifiquement prpare pour les matchs de mdailles. Une plate-forme surleve a

World Championship to be moved earlier to the month of February.

The very experienced Turkish Archery Federation, with the support of the city of Izmir and

the local archery club in Izmir offered a highly successful event to the archery world. The

sports fan city of Izmir, which also successfully organized the summer Universidades in

200, welcomed the world Archery community with a modern and very well prepared event.

Participants enjoyed two innovations in Izmir. Athletes were able to keep their archery

equipment at the venue in dedicated spaces prepared especially for each team, allowing

the archers to walk to their hotels (within walking distance) without the need to carry

heavy bow cases. Secondly, a specific hall was prepared just for the medal matches. What

a stage for the show! There was an elevated platform that allowed the spectators to see

the archers without interference from the working crew, judges and media people. It is

the first time that this layout was used for an archery event and it proved very interesting

from many points of view.

b) Championnats du Monde de Tir lArc 3D Sopron (HUN)

Les Championnats du Monde de tir larc 3D ont t organiss Sopron- gfalva, en Hongrie, du

au 10 juin 2007. 14 participants reprsentant 1 pays ont pris part cette comptition.

Le Comit dOrganisation, sous la direction du Prsident de la Fdration Hongroise de tir larc,

a ralis un excellent travail et a tout organis temps suivant les rglementations FITA pour le

3D. Plusieurs parcours intressants ont t prpars pour la comptition. Le niveau dexprience

de ce Comit dOrganisation 3D tait important pour le rsultat positif de la comptition.

Les aspects positifs citer sont:

b) 3D Archery World Championships Sopron (HUN)

The 3D Archery World Championships were organized in Sopron-gfalva, Hungary from

-10 June 2007 with 14 participants representing 1 countries taking part.

The Organizing Committee, led by the President of the Hungarian Archery Federation, did

an excellent job and had everything organized on time and following FITAs rules for 3D.

Several challenging courses were prepared for the competition. The level of experience of

the Organizing Committee in 3D was part of the excellent outcome of this competition.

La FITA travaille linterne pour trouver une solution visant une promotion meilleure et

plus large de ce championnat et de ce type de tir larc. Il est clair que les archers 3D ne

sont pas des tireurs sur cible et ont par consquent besoin dune approche diffrente. La

FITA collabore avec le Comit afin de trouver une solution convenable en vue dorganiser les

prochains Championnats du Monde en 200 et de permettre au tir larc 3D de se dvelopper

et dvoluer de manire plus efficace. De nouvelles rgles 3D ont t cres sur la base des

commentaires reus lors des 1ers et 2mes Championnats du Monde 3D.

c) Championnats du Monde Leipzig (GER)

Bien que la ville de Leipzig ne soit pas alle au-del de la premire slection des villes

candidates pour les JO de 2012, la FITA lui avait dj allou cet vnement. Le niveau

dimplication et de soutien dont cet vnement allait bnficier de la part des autorits

locales et nationales tait par consquent devenu une proccupation. Toutefois, le

rsultat de ces Championnats du Monde et le fort soutien de chacun en Allemagne ont

t fantastiques et sont galement la principale raison du succs de ces Championnats

du Monde. Nous pouvons dire que ce sont les meilleurs Championnats du Monde jamais

organiss, dans la plupart des domaines analyss. Les diffrentes runions des membres

impliqus dans le CO ont assur la prparation efficace de cet vnement. De mme, la forte

implication de la ville de Leipzig et de la Fdration Allemande de Tir (DSB) avec le soutien

de la FITA a t lun des lments cls de cet accomplissement. De plus, le championnat tait

le premier vnement comptant pour la qualification Beijing 2008. Cela a donc offert nos

archers de catgorie classique dautant plus dmotions et dintrt de la part des mdias

et des spectateurs. Pour rsumer cet vnement, nous pouvons mentionner le fait que

durant les finales, nous avons eu plus de 4000 spectateurs qui ont pu apprcier les terrains

attractifs mis sur pied par le CO. Un autre fait surprenant tait que la vente de tous les

tickets pour ces finales affichait complet une semaine avant le dbut de lvnement. Leipzig

a tabli un grand nombre de nouveaux records pour le tir larc, ainsi quun nouveau niveau

de Championnats du Monde quUlsan va semployer dpasser en 200.

c) Outdoor World Championships Leipzig (GER)

FITA had already awarded the Championships to Leipzig, and

when the city was out of the running as an Olympic Bid City for

2012, there was some concern about the level of involvement

and support from local and national authorities. Concerns

were unwarranted. The results were fantastic and the strong

support given by all concerned in Germany was the main

reason for the success of the World Championships. It was

the best ever in most of the areas analyzed. In addition, these

championships were the first qualifying event for Beijing 2008,

which offered our Recurve archers even more excitement and

media/spectator interest.

The many meetings involving all parties were key to the

proper preparation of this event. The strong commitment of

the city of Leipzig and the German Shooting Federation (DSB) with the support of FITA

was essential.

During the Finals we had more than 4000 spectators enjoying the attractive Finals field

arranged by the OC. Another surprising fact was that all the tickets for these Finals were

sold out one week before the start of the event. Leipzig established many new records for

Archery, and a new level of World Championships that Ulsan is aiming for in 200.

FITA is working internally to find a solution to ensure better

and wider promotion of this championship and this archery

discipline. It is clear that 3D archers are not target archers

and therefore need a different approach. FITA is working with

its Committee to find a convenient solution for the next World

Championships in 200 that will allow 3D archery to grow and

evolve more efficiently. A new set of 3D rules was created as

a result of the feedback received from the first and second 3D

World Championships.

Khimki, rgion de Moscou (RUS), du 4 au 8 mars 2007. Les comptitions ont finalement pu

se drouler grce aux efforts remarquables et au travail acharn de la Fdration russe de

tir larc et de la Directrice du Centre Planernaya avec son quipe. Ensemble, la dernire
