1. GRADUATION OF MONTESSORI 1st BATCH

The first batch of Montessori section graduated in June

2012. Masha’Allah children, who joined AIS from the

first year of school, were now ready to embark into

primary schooling. Their level of academics as well as

manners and etiquettes were a reflection of the

success of the AIS schooling system Alhamdulillah.

2. ALHUDA ISLAMIC EXHIBITION (AIEX)

On 2nd March 2012 AIS held its first AlHuda Islamic Exhibition (AIEx) entitled ‘Discover Islamic Science’.

This provided an ideal platform for students to effectively experience and explore the joys of interactive

learning. In doing so helping them appreciate Allah (swt) and His creation. This unique exhibition was a

trend setter in that it featured amazing science displays, engaging art competitions, calligraphy

competitions,

distinguished

speakers such as

Sheikh Tawfique

Chawdhary. It was

a crowd stopper

masha’Allah and

attracted over

2000 visitors from

the twin cities. The

3. HIFZ PROGRAM

Launched in April 2013, the exclusive hifz

program offers students to take a break of

about 2 years from their regular studies for

the noble cause of Hifz. Along with

memorization of the complete Holy Qur’an

and many duas, students benefit from

classes in communication skills

development, physical education, library

and tarbiyyah classes. Special attention is

given to learning recitation of the Holy

Qur’an with correct Tajweed. A low

student to teacher ratio of 8:1 helps the teachers give individual attention to each student. The program

which started from 8 students currently caters to 29 students.

4. SPELLATHON

An exciting and grand spelling competition called the Annual Spellathon Competition was held by the

Junior section on 30th May 2013 for the second

time in AIS. The objective of the Spellathon

competition was to inculcate in the students

the skill and the desire to spell words, even the

challenging ones, with precision and

confidence. The students’ zeal and passion to

learn new words and their spellings was

spectacular masha’Allah. May Allah bless our

students’ knowledge. Ameen.

Page 12: Annual Report - AlHuda International Schoolaispk.org/.../AlHuda-International-School-Annual-Report-2012-2013.pdfAnnual Report JULY 2012 ... a sense of Taqwa (Allah-fearing), self-discipline,

5. Qira’at Competition

Annual Qira’at competition was held on 18th December 2012 in order to enhance the love of Allah (swt)

and Qur’an in children and to inculcate in them a desire and habit to read Quran in the manner taught by

the Prophet (s.a.w). Special emphasis is on reciting with the correct makharij, abiding by the rules of

tajweed, avoiding mistakes in recitation and reciting with confidence. It was a beautiful experience to

see and hear small children reciting verses from the Qur’an with such respect, enthusiasm and perfection

masha’Allah. The participants were clad in specially designed robes and scarves.

The honourable chief guest was Qari Abdus Salam Azizi, Imam Masjid Qadsia Lahore and Director

Maahad AlQuraan AlKareem Lahore. Accompanying him were very special judges including Qari

Muhammad Ikhlaq Madani (Senior Imam Faisal Masjid) who acted as the chief judge on the occasion,

Qari Abdur Rehman Hamid (Imam Masjid Bukhari G-8), and Qari Shafeeq ur Rehman (a renowned

master trainer of hifz teachers).

6. COLLABORATING WITH SCHOOLS

This was the first year in which AIS reached out to other schools, inviting them to take part in events

conducted by AIS such as at the AlHuda Islamic Exhibition and taking our students to inter-school

competitions and events. This has led to positive collaboration between us and the schools in our region

and has also helped in making AIS a recognised school in Islamabad.

Page 13: Annual Report - AlHuda International Schoolaispk.org/.../AlHuda-International-School-Annual-Report-2012-2013.pdfAnnual Report JULY 2012 ... a sense of Taqwa (Allah-fearing), self-discipline,

7. SHIFTING TO F-8 CAMPUS

The school shifted to F-8 campus on 8th April 2013. The students actively participated in the shifting by

helping their teachers pack class room materials. The shifting marked the beginning of the school in an

exclusive campus which had been refurbished to meet the needs of the students. This campus has a

specialized Qur’an room, ideal for learning the Holy Qur’an.

8. ESTABLISHMENT OF ACADMIC DEPT.

In July 2012, a formal academic department was established. The role of this department was to finalize

policies all across the school, define the academic structure as well as evaluate and enhance the quality

of academics at the school.

Page 14: Annual Report - AlHuda International Schoolaispk.org/.../AlHuda-International-School-Annual-Report-2012-2013.pdfAnnual Report JULY 2012 ... a sense of Taqwa (Allah-fearing), self-discipline,

10. STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Alhamdulillah AIS has some of the finest teachers who undergo intensive training throughout the

academic year. Through the professional development program, teachers get opportunities to learn from

internal and external experts. Some of the topics this year were child psychology, Montessori teaching

methodologies, teaching skills, phonology, Arabic and Urdu calligraphy, creative writing, leadership,

team work, event management, time management, computer training amongst many more.

Meeting of director with Section Heads is quite frequent whereas whole staff meeting with director

takes place at least once a month. This ensures effective running of school and resolving of issues

promptly. In the Junior section, end of the day meeting of section head with the complete staff was a

routine feature. An integral feature of these meeting was reading an extract each day from the book

‘Muhammad(saw) kay Muaamlaat awr Mamoolat’. In the Montessori Section, meetings of section head

with staff was conducted as per need. These meetings helped in mutually discussing daily matters from

students and management’s side

Besides professional development, AIS also supports staff in their spiritual development. An exceptional

weekly Tarbiyyah session is delivered by Dr. Farhat Hashmi exclusively for AIS staff. During Ramadan all

AIS staff take part in a Daura-e-Quran where they get the chance to go over the entire Quran and refresh

their Iman and Amal. Staff is thereby trained with the knowledge and experience to inculcate Islamic

values into their teaching practices.

This year, the staff had at least 2 days (Saturdays) dedicated for trainings and development each month.

11. BETTER STUDENT ASSESMENTS

JUNIOR SECTION

In February 2012, Junior section implemented formative assessments through all grades, through which

formal monthly tests were conducted as per pre-informed schedules. These helped students prepare for

the mid-term and end-of-the-year exams better and also enabled teachers to work on areas that needed

improvement in students throughout the year. This resulted in better results and performance of

students and helped in tracking progress of students and teachers.

MONTESSORI SECTION

In the Montessori daily observation record was maintained for every student. This helps in developing

bimonthly academic reports which are discussed with the section head. This year 6 Behaviour

performance of students.

12. FAHM AL-QUR’AN COURSE FOR MOTHERS

Launched in September 2012, the Fahm al-Qur’an certificate course was an extraordinary on-campus

facility specially designed for AIS mothers. This 10-month course helped mothers to learn about the

purpose of life and ways to improve parental skills

through guidelines from Divine knowledge.

Alhamdulillah the first batch of Fahm al-Qur’an course

consisting of 24 students celebrated the “Takmeel” of

their course on 3rd May 2013. In the ceremony,

students of this course acknowledged how the course

had truly help them become better person and better

mothers.

The course offers an optional Friday Workshops for all

mothers of AIS. This incorporates the Arabic

vocabulary learnt by children at school as well as

Tajweed, ‘Ham awr hammaray bachchay’ lessons and workshops on effective parenting.

13. WORKING WITH PARENTS

A positive involvement of both parents is essential to

the correct upbringing and education of any child. AIS

promotes strong commitment of parents in their child’s

schooling as we believe that a child’s progress depends

upon coordination between the teachers, parents and

the environment.

We worked closely with the parents of our students in

order to achieve the best results.

Page 16: Annual Report - AlHuda International Schoolaispk.org/.../AlHuda-International-School-Annual-Report-2012-2013.pdfAnnual Report JULY 2012 ... a sense of Taqwa (Allah-fearing), self-discipline,

1. LITTLE ACTS OF KINDNESS

Mount Hira is a free School

founded for education and

grooming of the

underprivileged children of

our society. A few students

from this School visited AIS

during the Summer Course

to socialize and interact

with them. AIS Summer

Course students had

prepared and distributed

small gifts to the guest

students. Students from

both Schools performed

some poems and activities

on the stage.

AIS students welcomed students from Darul Atfal, Peshawar to their city and presented them

with gifts. Such interactions help instill feelings of gratitude to Allah amongst children and gives

them opportunities for sharing and caring for the less privileged.

Page 28: Annual Report - AlHuda International Schoolaispk.org/.../AlHuda-International-School-Annual-Report-2012-2013.pdfAnnual Report JULY 2012 ... a sense of Taqwa (Allah-fearing), self-discipline,

2. SPONSORSHIPS

AIS welcomes students from all backgrounds. A reasonable portion of talented students who belong to

families falling in low income groups are provided some form of sponsorship. Sponsorships may be in full

or part for tuition fee, books and bag, transportation, uniform etc.

AlHuda International School is a not-for-profit school with a self-sustainable business model; in that it

uses the tuition fee etc. to cover the running cost of the education program (such as covering salaries of

professional staff, school material, bills etc). However, in order to expand, it requires investments from

like-minded individuals who believe in this learning system and want to help spread it all over the world

insha’Allah.

For this we welcome donations

I have my best prayers for success of sincere efforts in the cause of disseminating Islamic message in Al-

Huda. Although I visited the institution after around a decade, I was extremely delighted to see efficient

execution of program by teachers who worked day and night in order to seek Allah’s pleasure to achieve

excellent performance by our future builders of the ummah.

(Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Riphah International University)

AlHuda International School – An excellent effort to put together the ‘Hikma of Holy Qur’an’ and link it to

the challenges of life. I see my child – after almost three years of education at this School – as a

PRACTICING YOUNG MUSLIM embedded with the pearls of knowledge. One who wants to see the

practical application of:

(You) Should come and see how it begins with!

(Dr. Aliya Akram, Assistant Professor, International Islamic University)

I have two children in AIS. I have been seeing Dr Zakir Naik since long and got inspired. I was looking for

an institute similar to his IRC. Someone out of my family told me that Dr. Farhat Hashmi is likely to open

a school similar to IRC.I was very happy and decided to have admission of my children. For this purpose, I

shifted from Peshawar. So far so I am satisfied with the performance of the school.

(Jan Nisar Akhtar, retd. Air force Officer, November 2013)

I have chosen AIS for my kids to:

i. Bring them closer to Allah (S.W.T.)

ii. Bring them under the supervision of such teachers who can be the best role models for my kids

academically and religiously.

iii. Make my children practicing Muslims and well groomed Dai- e- Deen.

Prove that children studying in an Islamic environment can excel and compete in worldly education.

Alhumd o Lillah my objective of bringing my children to this school is being fulfilled.

May Allah (S.W.T) accept your efforts (with regards to my son). Although he has given you a tough time.

But the way you people handled the situation and the way you people owned my child is remarkable and

I have no words to express my feelings, Jazak Allah o Khair. May Allah (S.W.T.)make him Sadaqa e Jariya

for all of us. Ameen.

I am happy to see that AIS is proceeding towards its success rapidly.

Whenever I felt any concerns regarding academic or non-academic issues, the Director was always there

to solve it with high consideration and with immediate effect. May Allah bless you.

(Asma Homair, mother, November 2013)

I wish there were more schools like AIS. May Allah (swt) accept your efforts (Ameen). Alhamdulillah

happy to be an AIS parent.

(Ali Raza Alvi at PTC, March 2013)

Great teachers, healthy environment, Alhamdulillah. We as parents are extremely happy to be a part of

AIS.

Our transition began only two months ago when my husband decided to move to Pakistan to be with his

mother and also to memorize the Quran. After living in Australia for five years the idea of moving back to

Pakistan appeared quite challenging but having tawakul in Allah swt we both understood that He will

Inshallah take care of us. The very first task for me was to find an Islamic school for my four year old son

Page 32: Annual Report - AlHuda International Schoolaispk.org/.../AlHuda-International-School-Annual-Report-2012-2013.pdfAnnual Report JULY 2012 ... a sense of Taqwa (Allah-fearing), self-discipline,

Saleh. Both myself and my husband were eager to make our children learn Arabic from the very

beginning. A friend had mentioned AIS earlier so I went over the website and came to the conclusion

that if my son goes to a school whilst our stay in Pakistan it had to be none other than AIS.

The admission was a long and tedious part. The interview seemed quite successful yet we did not hear

from them for a whole month. Although disappointed, I understood that it must be for the best. One

evening after Ramadan I received a phone call from AIS informing us that a new branch has opened in F-

10 sector where Saleh can start school in two weeks that too in senior Montessori. Brimming with joy I

fell in sujood.

During the next two weeks we were busy selling furniture and other household items and packed only

the essentials. Our books were our most important asset therefore the only two cartons that were sent

by cargo were two containing books. The rest of the stuff was either sold or donated. I arrived in

Pakistan with my two children three days before the start of school. For the first time my son told me

that he enjoyed school saying " mama bohat acha school hay", something I never heard in Australia.

My friend who was a primary school teacher at AIS insisted that I too apply for a position and within a

week I was hired as a Montessori school teacher in the same branch as my son. Also I received special

permission to bring along my two year old and make him familiar with the school environment. I could

not have asked for more. My husband has Alhamdulillah started his hifz with one of the great Qaris who

teach at AIS. AIS has been extremely generous and accommodating with regards to my needs. May Allah

swt make this institute prosper, flower and flourish and make these students the leaders of the ummah

aameen.
