Dear AGS Friends and Families,

As we began the first day of the school year with our annual opening assembly, I revealed the theme for 2018-19—Open eyes, open minds, open hearts, taken right from our Founder’s Charge! As we celebrated our 19th year, your involvement and support allowed AGS to serve 235 students from more than 60 zip codes. Your contributions supported over 80 students with financial aid, assisting more than 30% of our student body. We applaud the success of the class of 2019 for their wonderful accomplishments. These confident and successful young women secured over 5.5 million dollars in scholarships and grants to the over 77 colleges where they were accepted.

I am thrilled to share that the AGS community (including families, friends, alumnae, faculty/staff, trustees, foundations, and corporations) came together to contribute a total of $795,191 toward the success of the 2018-2019 school year. My charge to the AGS community members during this year was to truly open their eyes, minds and hearts by embracing the

unknown, changing a perspective, and making a new friend. I think you all lived up to this charge, by opening your hearts, as you generously gave of your time, talents, and treasures to ensure that AGS remains the best place for girls and fulfills the mission of Inspiring Girls to Lead Lives of Purpose.

Cheers,

Yanni

annual report2 0 1 8 - 2 0 1 9 annual fundC A M P A I G NThe AGS community has a strong tradition of supporting the Annual Fund. We are grateful to the more than 380 donors who contributed to Atlanta Girls’ School during the 2018-19 school year. Each year, the annual fund secures much needed funds for the school, making up 18% of the school’s budget. The Annual Fund impacts every area of campus such as the enhancement of signature programs, professional development for faculty, STEAM programming athletics, athletic and arts support, and financial aid. And, at the end of the day, each girl receives a stellar education where she can be her authentic self and prepare to lead a life of purpose because of the generosity of our many donors.

We are tremendously grateful to the many generous individuals and businesses who contributed items for the silent and live auctions, and for each of our sponsors. Guests enjoyed music, dancing, and friends at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History and came together to support the incredible opportunities that all of our students and community enjoy!

The AGS Auction is the largest fundraiser of the year for Atlanta Girls’ School. Proceeds from the event support the Annual Fund, which provides over 40% of current families the opportunity to attend AGS through our financial aid program. The Annual Fund also supports athletics, the arts, teacher salaries, and signature programs like Global Travel and EDLS—all central features and paramount to the AGS experience.

Our deepest thanks to everyone involved in planning this important annual event! We would like to share a special thank you to our Auction Host Committee members Jackie and Jeff Chiusano, Mary Virginia and Peter Coffman, Susie and James Davis, Brittany Flood, Lucy Fry and Jason Butler, Stacey and Ron Geer, Ann Herrera and Mary Goodwin, Robin and Raymond King, Kathy and Stu Platt, and Jennifer and Todd Rinck.

We look forward to your participation in the 20th Anniversary Celebration at Atlanta Girls’ School Saturday, April 25, 2020, as we continue to shape and create opportunities to Inspire Girls to Lead Lives of Purpose!

The November 5th Society honors individual donors who support the Atlanta Girls’ School Annual Fund at the $5,000 level and above. In addition to their generous level of giving to the Annual Fund, many members are also sponsors of the auction and participate in the Georgia Tax Credit Program.

The name of the Society honors the date when the first gift was made to AGS by a non-founder – November 5, 1998. All gifts listed in this Annual Report were made to AGS between July 1, 2018 – June 15, 2018. If we need to make a correction to your listing, please call us at 404-604-2817.
