This al!ioO took place III conJunCtron with thO! three-day Mid- Project Workshop for the Partnership Projects in CIDA-Shastri PrOject 2 (a project funded by CIDA and executed by the Instrtute). Representatives of the dO!ven proJens provided upJ.l tCS on progress and reams of scholars/researchers preS('nteJ parers on these projects wuhm the SIC I/CASA conference. It was a highly succ~ful worbhor , and, despite dclnys m beginning the projects. the progress is imprt:S5lve. Consider.lblc work has already been achieved. In November, March and June we contlllued the Srr.ltegic Alliances Roundtal1ie begun m Ottawa last year. The roundtable bnngs together several Canadmn governm('nral and arm's length agencIC$ with an ttuo;:rC5t in India. The updates and networking among those present is Important and generating further alliances. The roundtables have also been insuumental in increasing the aWluencss of the many aC[Jvities and prOj,'l"ilmmes of the Inst itute and its role in Canada/India n'lations. We wrll continue thiS pr.lCticc and sltghtly expand the groIlP'~ partiCipation.

In May the Indra Office had the pleasure of rtteivmg the Honourable Raymond Chan, Sc:cretary of Stale for ASia PaCific, durrng hl5 ~hOrt official VISit to India.
