V I S I O N Carrollton Center for the Arts is the creative hub devoted to nurturing and showcasing artistic excellence in our diverse and collaborative arts community while providing a better quality of life for the citizens in our region.

M I S S I O N Carrollton Center for the Arts provides a home for high-quality arts programming for residents and visitors through education, cultural enrichment and arts advocacy for Carrollton and surrounding communities.

We offered 23 classes in dance and 3 camps:

We normally present the Nutcracker Ballet. We were unable to do that in FY20-21, but we were able to do a Winter Showcase and a Wizard of Oz Dance Showcase.

We have 4 dance faculty.

We offered 3 classes and 5 camps.

Our teen summer musical, Tarzan, was canceled due to Covid-19. We performed 5 shows: • Jungle Book• Rumpelstiltskin Is My Name• 101 Dalmatians• Salem’s Daughter• Winnie the Pooh and the

Easter Bunny Too!• The Lion, The Witch and the

Wardrobe We have 3 theatre faculty.

We offered 2 choral programs, African drumming and private lessons in voice, piano, strings, percussion, brass and woodwinds. We also offered 3 music camps. We have between 9 and 12 music faculty. We also partner with the Carroll Symphony Orchestra to provide instruction both on and off campus.

Our goal is to develop a youth orchestra.

We had 11 visual art classes, 3 workshops and 17 art camps.

Examples of classes include drawing, pastels, watercolor, acrylics, oil, ceramics, mixed media and photography. We have between 11 and 15 visual art faculty.

Each year this group helps organize and implement the Arts Festival of Carrollton. This past year it was canceled due to Covid-19. We did offer a one–day sales event, West End Arts Market, right before the holidays.

This organization helps implement our High School Creative Writing Competition. In FY20-21, they offered 2 Evening of Poetry events and hosted author Chelsea Rathburn, Georgia’s Poet Laureate.

P R E M I E R E : G R A S S H O P P E R T E A & T H E B A S E M E N T O F W O N D E RCommunity Foundation Innovation Grant

• Three Year Project

• Historical Puppet Show about the history of Haralson, Carroll and Heard Counties.

• Everything for this project has been created in Carroll County – organized by Scott Foxx & Mimi Gentry

• All 3rd Grade Classes in the three counties will get the opportunity to see the show this fiscal year.

• The goal is to give students an understanding of the historical significance of West Georgia and instill personal pride where students live.
