Hon’ble, Chief Guest of Today’s august function, Respected President, Distinguished Invitees,

Members of the Staff and my dear students. It gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction to place

before you all the annual report of our college for the academic year 2015-2016.

✓ The college reopened for the current academic year on 1st August 2015. In addition to the

lectures, the college had in its calendar of events lots of extra curricular activities such as selection of

the college representatives, Sports, Debate, Moot Courts, Special Lectures, cultural activities etc.

FORMATION OF COLLEGE STUDENT COUNCIL:

For forming the college students’ council for the academic year 2015-2016 in conformity with

guiding rules of the Karnataka State Law University, a selection committee of all the staff members

was constituted and the committee recommended the names of the deserving students. The principal

nominated the students, and the following students constituted the students council for the year 2015-

2016.

WELCOME FUNCTION:

All the students of II, III LL.B. and V BA.LL.B. arranged a function to welcome their new

junior friends of the I LL.B. on 8th August 2015. Well kept up traditions of the college, made the new

entrants feel proud.

INAUGURAL FUNCTION:

The inaugural function of our college Union and Gymkhana activities marked the beginning of

the college extracurricular activities. The activities were inaugurated on 8th September 2015 by the

graceful hands of Dr. C. Rajashekhar, Professor & Dean Faculty of Law, Karnataka University,

Dharwad was the Chief Guest. Smt. S. G. Patil, Principal G. K. Law College, Hubballi was president.

TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION:

On 5th September 2014 the students had organized a function to honour their beloved teachers

which was a reflection of the age old Guru Shishya Parampare.

Our students have emerged Champions in KSLU Inter Collegiate Cross Country Competition

held at Vivekanand Law College, Puttur on 19th & 20 September 2015 and have won Women’s

Runners up Prize.

Our students have emerged Champions in 4th KSLU Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet held at R.

N. Shetty Stadium, Dharwad on 11th & 12th May 2016 and they have won Men`s Championship

with 67 points & Women’s Runners up Prize with 69 points and Overall Championship with 136

points. In this meet Mr. Basavaraj Nagod of our college secured best Men Athlete Prize with 3

gold medals &3 records and Miss. Alpha Gona Secured Best Women Athlete & she created 3

records & won 3 gold medals.

FESTIVAL

Following students participated in KSLU 4th Inter Collegiate Zonal Level(Hubli Zone) Youth

Festival held at R. L. Law College, Davanagere on 19.03.2016.

N.S.S. ACTIVITIES

A remarkable progress was made in N.S.S. activities.

NSS Day celebration & Inauguration of NSS activities was held on 8th September 2015. Dr. C.

Rajashekhar, Professor & Dean Faculty of Law, Karnataka University, Dharwad was the Chief Guest.

• On 21.08.2015 Orientation Programme was organized. Shri. C. R. Patil, President Bar Association

Hubli was the Chief Guest.

• On 15th August 2015 Independence Day has been celebrated by NSS Unit of our College.

• On 5th September 2015 Teachers Day has been celebrated by NSS Unit of our College.

• On 8th September 2015 NSS Day celebration & NSS activities of our college has been inaugurated.

• On 2nd October 2015 Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti has been celebrated by NSS unit of our college.

• On 26th November 2015 Constitution Day and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar 125th Birth Anniversary was

celebrated.

• On 26th January 2016 Republic Day was celebrated by NSS Unit of the college.

• On 8th March 2016 International Woman’s Day has been celebrated.

• On 12.04.2015 NSS Special Camp Inauguration was held at APMC Yard, Hubballi. Shri. Rajanna

Koravi, Corporator, Hubballi-Dharwad inaugurated the Camp.

• On 13.04.2016 NSS volunteers visited the APMC Yard workers houses to spread awareness about

Right to Education and Right to have healthy environment.

• On 14.04.2016 Right to Information, Right to Education Legal Aid camp and Ambedkar Jayanti

celebration was conducted at Chikkenkoppa Ashram, Navanagar, Hubballi. Shri. Shivashant Veer

Sharanaru, Shri. G. R. Andanimath, Senior Advocate, Hubballi, Prof. Jangalappa Goudar, Rtd.

Principal, Prof. K. S. Koujalagi were the Chief Guests.

• On 18.04.2016 NSS Special Camp closing Ceremony function was conducted Dr. Lingaraj

Angadi, President, Dharwad District Kannada Sahitya Parishattu and Shri. K. S. Koujalagi,

President Taluka Kannada Sahitya Parishattu and Rtd. Professor, Shree Kadasiddeshwar Arts

College, Hubballi were the Chief Guests.

• Dr.Ramu Mulagi Natinal Award Winner In Janapada Sahitya and Head master,

Government School APMC Hubballihas delivered series of lectures for our students and

higthed the importance of janapada in legal literacy and called upon the students to carry on

legal literacy programmes through janapada songs.

• Prof. Jangalappa Goudar, Rtd. Principal,conducted personality Development Programmes for our

students and heighted the importance of use of social skills in legal profession.

• MOOT COURT ACTIVITIES:

Moot court activities were quite educative and well participated under the able guidance of

Prof. D. P. Chouri.

First Inter Class Moot Court and selection Competition was conducted on 13.10.2015.

Following students participated in Kannada Moot Court Competition held at KSLU, Hubballi

on 7.11.2015.

Apart from these, the college organizes Interclass Moot Court Competitions regularly to

improve the mooting skills of the students.

WORKSHOP/ SEMINAR/ SYMPOSIUM:

On 21.08.2015 Orientation Programme was organized. Shri. C. R. Patil, President Bar

Association Hubli was the Chief Guest.

Debate competition was arranged on 15th September 2015 at 11.00 am on the subject “Whether

reservation policy should be applied to private sector?”

Personality Development workshop was organized on 09.10.2015. Prof. B. Jayasimha,

Principal, B.V. Bellad Law College, Belagavi was the Chief Guest and Shri. K. Gururaj Rao, Rtd.

Manager, LIC, Hubballi were resource persons.

Workshop on “Career Guidance” was organized on 10.05.2016 in association with Karnataka

State Law University, Hubballi. Dr. G. B. Patil, Registrar(Ev), KSLU, Hubballi was Chief Guest and

Shri. Vijayakumar Patil, Govt. Advocate, Banglore., Shri. Praveen Gudi, CEO, My Life

,Hubballi.,were Chief Guests.

Special Lectures

Guest lecture on “Vegetable Juice Therapy” was organized on 11.09.2015. Prof. Suresh R.

Kanoj, Janapada Vishwavidyalaya, Gotagodi and a naturopathy specialist was the guest.

Special Lecture was organized Prof. R. Vishnuprasad, Assistant Professor, National Law

School of India University, Bangalore has delivered lecture on "Mooting Skills" on 12th September

2015 at 10 a.m.

Special lecture on “Human Rights” was organized on 16.09.2015 Shri. C. G. Hunagund,

Member, Karnataka State Human Rights Commission, Bangalore was resource person. Shri. S. I.

Munavalli, Director, K.L.E. Society, Belagavi was presided.

On occasion of ‘World Health Day’ Special Lecture on “Accu puncture” and women`s health

related issues was organized on 7.4.2016 by TIENS,Smt.Radha Kotegouder., Shilpa s.,Nirmala

S.Kabadage were the resource persons.

Special lecture on “Recent Amendments to CPC” was organized on 5.4.2016 Shri.M.S.Bhat

was the Resouce person.

Special lecture on was organized to promote “Indegenous language and Culture” on

29.03.2016.Dr.V.L.Patil, President, Janapada Studies Center Karnataka University, Dharwad. Dr. S.

Balaji, Kannada Janapada Parishattu, Bangalore, Dr. Raju Gundapur, President, Kannada Janapada

Parishattu, Ramanagar, Dr. Lingaraj Angandi, President, Kannada Janapada Parishattu, Dharwad,were

the resource persons.

LEGAL AID AND LEGAL LITERACY PROGRAMMES:

Legal Awareness Programme was organized on 5.4.2016 in Association with Taluka Legal

Service Authority and Bar Association, Hubballi. Hon`ble Shri. G. A. Mulimani, 1st Addnl. Senior

Civil Judge & JMFC, Hubballi, Shri. D. M. Nargund, President, Bar Association, Dr.Ramu Mulagi

Natinal Award Winner In Janapada Sahitya and Head master, Government School APMC Hubballi

were chief guests.

Legal Aid Camp organized at APMC Yard, Hubballi in association with Bar Association,

Hubballi on 13.04.2016. Shri. Shri. D. M. Nargund, President, Shri. Ashok Anvekar, Secretary, Bar

Association, Hubballi were the Guests.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES:

The Ladies Association of the college organized Rangoli, Recycling day, Cooking, Mehendi,

Veg. carving, Nail art, singing competitions and Traditional day from 3rd to 8th March 2016 and

Colorful week was also celebrated.

K.L.E. Law Academy

We are supremely happy & proud to report that all the law colleges of K.L.E. Society have

formed K.L.E. Law Academy to give a platform to students for exhibiting their skills and talents and

to make them truly professional. Under it every year National Level “Law Fest” will be conducted in

all the law colleges by rotation.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

20 Students along with staff members visited High Court of Karnataka, Dharwad to observe

the court proceedings as part of their academics.

50 N. S. S. volunteers visited the APMC Yard workers houses and conducted legal awareness

programmes.

20 Students along with staff members visited Micro Finish Industry as part of their academics.

20 Students along with staff members visited Syndicate Bank,B,V,B,Branch,Vidyanagar, as

part of their academics.

Our committed teams of staff members are active and enthusiastic in participating in various

International/National/State/Regional level seminars & symposia to update their knowledge and

proficiency in the subject.

on “Student Legal Aid Clinics as Effective Instrument of Empowerment” organized by KSLU &

Karnataka State Legal Service Authority, Bengaluru at KSLU, Hubballi on 19.09.2015.

ANNUAL SPORTS:

Apart from the above-mentioned extracurricular activities our students also took keen interest

in the annual sports and participated in outdoor and indoor games. Our college annual sports were

conducted on 24th April 2016 under the able & inspiring guidance of Prof: Bahubali Kurkuri, Physical

Education Director of our college. Winners in these events will also receive prizes in a short while

from now.

On the whole our college is progressing under the able & inspiring guidance of Chairman,

Board of Management, K.L.E. Society, Belgaum & Governing Body .We aspire to achieve still greater

heights under their guidance & leadership.
