Thirty-third Sunday of the Year November 13, 2011

THE HOLY ROSARY
Our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner will take place at Holy Rosary, Thursday, November 24. This is a Community
Celebration where everyone who would like to break bread with friends and celebrate the day is welcome to join
us for the Thanksgiving Feast.
We are in the planning stage right now and have a seasoned committee in place but we still
need more of our Parishioners involved:
To help make sure we have covered all the areas that need covering for this wonderful
event.
To take charge of the logistics of the event which is set up, tear down, and some details in
between..
To be willing to dispatch and oversee the carry out part of the dinner so that our parishioners who can’t get
out will get their meal delivered in time for Thanksgiving dinner.
We need donations to help defray the cost of the meal.
Central Market is very generous with their donation to the dinner, as well as many of our parishioners
but we do need funds to purchase the turkey, the odds and ends to make sure the meal is just like home.
NO matter if you only have a little time or a lot of time, or even if you can’t be with us Thanksgiving Day we
would certainly appreciate any of your time and talent.
You can call either Sue Braun 218-849-2258 (cell) or call Holy Rosary 218- 847-1393 and leave a message with
Mary Hager. We will get back to you if you care to volunteer.
If you would like to donate we are in need of:
Cash to purchase the turkeys and other perishable items (sorry we are unable to accept perishable food as
donations)
Cans of Cranberry sauce (whole)
Cans and jars of Black and Green Olives
Cans of Corn
Please invite anyone you know who might be alone, or unable to prepare Thanksgiving
Dinner to Holy Rosary November 24th, 2011.
Catholic United Financial will meet today, Sunday,
November 13 at 10:00 am in the Holy Rosary School

Mass and Installation of New Members at 6 pm and

and time) Also, don’t forget to pick up your member
book at the Parish Office.
A Turkey Bingo will be held on Sunday, November 20
at 7 pm at the Callaway Community Center. The Bingo
is sponsored by the Callaway Lions and all proceeds
go to community youth activities.
With the cold weather approaching, the Food Pantry
is in need of warm blankets/quilt in all sizes, for
adult beds as well as children’s single beds and crib
blankets. All donations are welcomed!
Emmaus Ministers. The new Companion Missal
starting with Advent is available in the Parish Office.
Please stop in and pick up your copy.
MEDITATION READINGS:
―First come – first serve‖ - A limited amount of “Little
Books” published by the Diocese of Saginaw, MI, have
been purchased. This booklet has a well regarded his-
tory of daily spiritual readings and meditations and we
think you may like this “Little Blue Book“ approach for
the Advent and Christmas Season. There is a six-
minute reflection for each day. Please stop by the of-
fice to get your copy.
With the cold and icy weather upon us, please re-
member the parish bus is available for transportation
to and from Church for the Saturday, 5:00 pm Mass.

ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER AT OUR HOUSE!
Parish and Area News
NOTES FROM MONSIGNOR TIM: NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH OF THE POOR SOULS and our Book of Remem-brance is near the Baptismal Font next to the Easter Candle. You may inscribe the names of your deceased family and friends and we will remember them in our prayers at Mass all through November. MASS OF REMEMBRANCE: We continue to recognize the need to support those who have had a loss of a loved one. (Your loss may be recent or in the past.) A Mass of Remembrance will be offered on Tuesday, November 15, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Lunch will follow the Mass, so please call the Parish Office if you are able to share lunch with us. We hope to see you on Tuesday. THANKSLIVING FOOD DRIVE continues. You are welcome to take home a paper grocery bag, fill it with non-perishable food stuffs and return it to the church anytime up until the week of Thanksgiving so that they may be taken to the local food shelf. Lets help stamp out hunger in our little corner of the world. NATIONAL CATHOLIC YOUTH CONFERENCE: This week a number of our youth, their chaperones and Youth Minister Brady Borslien will be attending the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. This conference takes place every two years and draws nearly 18,000 young people and their chaperones. It is always an exciting time for the participants to come together from all over the country whose hearts are on fire because of the Lord’s presence. Keep them in your prayers this week. Upon their return they will bring you up to date in the Parish Bulletin with their experiences! THE ST. MARY’S MISSION APPEAL is this Sunday. Your participation in the St. Mary’s Mission Appeal is a sign of your Christian concern for others. Through this appeal, you are able, with one gift, to join the other Catholics of the Church of Crookston in doing God’s work. Please pray about your personal pledge to this appeal. The appeal will benefit St. Mary’s Mission at Red Lake, MN.
HOLY ROSARY PIE BAKING AND SALE will be taking place this week. Please consider donating some time to help make pies. Also you may preorder your pies at the counters of both Holy Rosary School and Holy Rosary Parish Office.
COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING FEAST: The annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner plans are underway. Please see the details as to volunteering and donations elsewhere in today’s Parish Bulletin.
CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT: Next weekend our second collection will be the annual collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. See the inserted flyer in this weeks Parish Bulletin. Please be generous.
THE PARISH EXTENDS ITS SYMPATHY to Renee Hermann and James Gooselaw on the death of Renee’s father and James’ brother, DONALD W. GOOSELAW, whose funeral was last week in St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo, ND and to Rita Frenzel on the death of her brother, EDWARD JOSEPH VETTEL, whose funeral was Saturday in St. Jude’s Catholic Church at Thompson, North Dakota. May they rest in the peace of Christ.

You hide all your glorious splendor in order to be
close to me – who can’t handle seeing or holding
all that glory. I can’t believe I mean that much to
you. When I receive you in the Eucharist my
whole body and soul feels more peaceful. I can tell
as I consume you, that your love is consuming me.
I’ve never felt so close to anyone as I do to you in
the Eucharist. And the best part is that it never
gets old. You constantly are able to love me like I
need, strengthen me for my day and speak person-
ally to my heart. All I have to do is get out of bed
and show up.
I’m sitting right now in Adoration. Well, you know
that – you know everything. But as I’m looking at
you in the Eucharist, I feel like we’re best friends,
just sitting and talking.
I know that Mass is the high point of our relation-
ship because it’s when you and I become one, so
that your life flows through my veins. You are the
one I love and I want to be as closely united with
you as possible – like when I receive Holy Com-
munion. I will never give that up because I don’t
ever want to be separated from you.
