• Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by extremely lowbody weight, distorted body image and an obsessive fear of gaining weight.

• The term anorexia nervosa was established in 1873 by Sir William Gull, one of Queen's Victoria's personal physicians. The term is of Greek origin: a (α, prefix of negation), n (ν, link between two vowels) and orexis (όρεξη, appetite), thus meaning a lack of desire to eat.

• Dr. Kerry Brain, scientist in the university of Manchester said ironically: “If your bones do not throw, then you can’t be a model!”. “ For most teens it’s very important to have a standard and to be compared with it. However we need to change skinny and stupid models with that of clever and healthy ones.”
