Health – an alarming number of residents were malnourished and the other residents suffer from various illnesses, namely amoebiasis, pneumonia, perennial tuberculosis, etc. Thus, Barangay Luningning lack in nutrition and health services. Cleanliness- as seen in the opening paragraph of chapter 13, the barangay was described to be unclean according to the statement “Foul smell coming from clogged drainage, spaghetti-like electrical wirings serves as evident threat to its people”. Entrepreneurship/livelihood Program – majority of Barangay Luningning’s working population are seasonal or contractual workers which means that they only gain little and seasonal income to support their family. Drug-Free Community- as seen in the opening paragraph of chapter 13, the barangay had some crimes and drug-related violence according to the statement “ According to informal interviews also, a number of petty crimes and drug-related violence involved by some misguided youths were recorded during the past”. Security- the big problems that Barangay Luningning experience make the residents’ lives hard. Some succumb to doing bad things to get their families’ needs/ personal needs. Goal: Livelihood Program (Educate residents on how to start a small business to help them make money)

Steps:

Think of businesses that are applicable to the community and its needs.

Ask private sectors to help the program become successful and effective.

Share business knowledge by conducting a seminar.

Demonstrate to the residents how to build a business.

Objective:

Give the residents knowledge and plans on how to create a business that will help them acquire the adequate (or better yet abundant) income they need to support their families.
