Hon‟ble Mr. Ashok Katariya

Chairman,

Ashoka Education Foundation, Nashik

To be a leader, it is necessary that the person is not only equipped with knowledge, but one should

be empowered with a strong character, motivation to face the odds and above all the ability to find

and pursue a vision for one's life. Ashoka aims to create an environment where the students will

develop themselves as an aware citizen but into a leader of Global status. Ashoka is an initiative to

revolutionize the educational environment by equipping the students with information, mental and

spiritual strength together with contemporary skills. It also empowers their Personality with a

vision.

Hon‟ble Mr. Shrikant Shukla

Secretary,

Ashoka Education Foundation, Nashik

More than possessing knowledge, it is more important to know what purpose that knowledge can

serve. Our country has been affected by the stereotype teaching system, where the focus is on

ensuring that the students learn by rote what has been taught.

AEF focuses on a much broader picture, which is developing not just a SCHOLAR but a

COMPLETE PERSON. One who not only knows what he has learned but can implement his

knowledge at the correct time and place and utilize his knowledge in the best possible way.

Government Initiatives for Self Reliant India through Women Entrepreneurship......

“There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved; it

is not possible for a bird to fly on only one wing.”

-By Swami Vivekanand

From the above quote we tend to realise that if a bird tires to fly with only one wing, then either it

gets tired or may end its journey half way before the destination arrives. Sameis the condition of the

women in the Indian Society as the women are being neglected in many parts of the countryfor thier

uncounted efforts in all the streams. There are many reasons which act as the barriers for the growth

of the women. One of the biggestreasons why women lose track is the lack of mental and financial

support that leads them to drop out ofthe race; sometimes evenbefore the racebegins.

As per the stats mentioned on the Start Up website by the GOI, women founded and co-founded

start-ups account for less than six percent of total investments infused into the Indian start-up

ecosystem. Moreover, the funding raised by Indian start-ups with at least one woman founder

accounted for just 5.77 percent or $1.69 billion (across 378 deals) of the total start-up investments in

India for January 2018 to June 2020.In such circumstances, if the private and public players come

forward and extend the hand of help to the women entrepreneurs realise their dreams it may

contribute to raise the above numbers. Indian Government is supporting this idea and has come up

with many schemes that give wings to aspiring women entrepreneurs, both from urban and rural

areas of the nation.Below are few of the major schemes that are being introduced to encourage

entrepreneurship amongst thewomen in the country:

Page 16: Antarang-February 2021 Page 1

Antarang-February 2021 Page 16

Apart from the above, there are some more government schemes which are into practice that

promotes the idea of women entrepreneurs. All these initiatives by the government have been

designed keeping in mind the status quo of women entrepreneurship in the country and many of the

women from the Rural as well as urban areas have made fortunes out of this.

It is a challenging task to make these schemes reach to the women around the country and also the

Implementation part demands a lot of efforts and strategic planning.

So, what we need is to do is stand united as a nation and take initiatives that would benefit more and

more women entrepreneurs in the country and make them SELF RELIANT.
