March 24, Sunday (Dinner) Our flight takes us to Memphis, TN - the home of the Blues, the birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll, and home to Elvis! Upon arrival, we ‘ll check into the Sheraton Memphis Downtown and have me to relax aſter our travels. This evening we venture out for BBQ and live musical entertainment at Alfred’s on Beale. Since opening in 1986, Alfred’s has hosted many celebries who come to enjoy the world-famous BBQ and listen to live jazz, blues and ‘rock and roll.’ Alfred’s boasts the largest collecon of gold records in the U.S. and has a large collecon of Elvis photos for you to enjoy. March 25, Monday (Breakfast) Memphis, TN This morning we’ll take an entertaining tour of Memphis. Our musician-guide will combine story, comedy, and music to divulge the secrets of Memphis' history. Our tour will end at Graceland – former home of Elvis Presley. The self-guided audio tour will take you on an unforgeable journey through the most famous rock ‘n’ roll residence in the world and show you the personal side of Elvis Presley. Learn how his revoluonary style and unique sound changed the face of popular music and culture forever. Next, prepare to embark on an unforgeable journey down America’s largest and most historical river on board the largest and most opulent steamboat ever built, the grand American Queen! Although filled with today’s modern amenies, her rooms and accommodaons display all the opulence of the American Victorian era. Fresh flowers, glistening woodwork, and anques adorn her interior spaces. Outside, lacy filigree evokes memories of the many stately riverboats that preceded her. Bounful buffets for breakfast and lunch, and tantalizing mul-course dinners, with complimentary wine and beer, served in the lavishly appointed main dining room, followed by Broadway-caliber entertainment make every evening special. Explore the land of bawdy blues and Southern belles on this journey which showcases the history and beauty of the Lower Mississippi River in the springme! From Memphis to New Orleans, the river rolls slowly and expansively, smooth as a southern drawl. The woodlands and bayous along the shore create dramac landscapes that are virtually unchanged since the days of the French fur traders. March 27, Wednesday Vicksburg, MS Vicksburg perfectly blends Southern culture and heritage with exciting modern-day attractions. Described as the “Key to the South” by Abraham Lincoln, this southern town carries a history unlike any other Civil War city. Vicksburg was founded in 1811 and grew as a vital river port city. It was a major component to the Civil War and carries much of the history within the town. Today, Vicksburg is a popular spot for tourists to learn about the battles of the city, taste the cuisine, and visit the many museums. In the local museums you can examine the war history, discover the role of the Mississippi River, view rare dolls, and learn about the Coca-Cola industry. Touring the beautiful Anchuca Mansion and Church of the Holy Trinity will give you other unique perspectives to life along the river.

March 28, Thursday Natchez, MS This charming town was founded in 1716, making it the oldest city on the Mississippi. The city is known for its elegance, hospitality, and impressive preservation of history. The included excursions appeal to a wide variety of interests. Relive the South’s rich history through tours of Magnolia Hall, circa 1858, Stanton Hall, circa 1857 and Rosalie Mansion circa 1823. The William Johnson House Museum highlights the life of William Johnson who began as a slave, gained his freedom at age eleven and began to work his way up in society. Join an American Queen exclusive tour of the King’s Tavern and Charbonneau Distillery, a newly opened restaurant and bar, owned by Regina Charboneau, a nationally known chef. Enjoy a tour of the distillery, followed by a custom drink on the house. The Natchez Association for the Preservation of Afro-American Culture Museum delves into the 300-year-old African American history, spanning from Colonial times to the Civil Rights Movements. March 29, Friday Baton Rouge, LA The capital of Louisiana has a deep culture and rich history where locals speak creole, an exclusive version of French. Spend the day discovering all that Baton Rouge has to offer, from the museums and the architecture, to the shops and cuisine. Explore the USS Kidd DD-61, a Fletcher-Class Destroyer that fought in many battles, earning eight battle stars for WWII service and four battle stars for Korean War service. The city’s museums embrace unique works of art, state history, and science exhibits.

March 30, Saturday St. Francisville, LA Established in 1809, St. Francisville is the oldest town in the Florida Parishes. The town is lovingly referred to as “two miles long and two yards wide,” but is filled with unique shops, historical homes, beautiful churches, and breathtaking parks. There are four distinctive shore excursions for you to enjoy. Grandma’s Buttons is a button museum and retailer offering jewelry made of 100-year-old buttons. Meet local artisans and craftsmen at Old Market Hall, where they showcase their products. The West Feliciana Historical Society Museum, dedicated to the city’s history and people, displays many artifacts and photos portraying the town’s history. Enjoy a self-guided tour of Grace Episcopal Church and grounds. Built in 1860 and heavily damaged in the war, today it is one of the state’s oldest Protestant churches and still features the original organ.

March 31, Sunday Nottoway, LA An included shore excursion takes you to Nottoway Plantation, the South’s largest, most glorious remaining Antebellum mansion with an opulent history dating back to 1859. This “White Castle” of the South transports visitors back to an era of glory and grandeur. Set amongst a natural backdrop of vibrant gardens and two hundred-year-old oak trees, Nottoway Plantation captivates all with a brilliant blend of true Southern hospitality, history and mystery.

April 1, Monday New Orleans, LA Ship arrives at 5:00 am After disembarking our local guide will lead us on a city tour sharing with us the history and lore of New Orleans, home to a unique melting pot of culture, food and music. After time for lunch on your own, we’ll visit the National WW II Museum. Through exhibits and creative experiences, the museum tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world, why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today. Later today we’ll check into the Astor Crowne Plaza, located at the Gateway to the French Quarter where Canal Street meets Bourbon Street. You’ll find the excitement of the French Quarter right outside your door! This evening is free for you to have dinner and experience the distinctive character of the French Quarter.

April 2, Tuesday Bid “Au revoir” to New Orleans as we head to the airport for our return flight home taking nostalgic river memories with us.
