Euthanasia Euthanasia. http://www.answers.com/euthanasia&r=67/ .

December 7 “The act or practice of ending the life of an

individual suffering from a terminal illness or an incurable condition, as by lethal injection or the suspension of extraordinary medical treatment.”

In the community that Jonas lives in, people who are elderly, ask for release, or have disobeyed a rule more than three times are euthanized. Do You want to live in a community that kills innocent people? We wouldn’t and we don’t think that you will either.

No Choices or Freedom

In the Giver community you cannot make your own choices. You live the life you are given and you must follow all the rules. Everyone lives the same lifestyle and owns the same things. You have your spouse chosen for you, and your children are chosen by the elders so they are compatible to your personality.

No Color Color Blindness.

“Being color-blind can be a real obstacle for anyone involved in design. For Web designers, this does not need to be true. In any other field of design, it is expected that the designer has a keen eye for colors. It is generally assumed that you need to “just feel” when colors look good together and when they don’t. You should just be able to see them and say “Yeah, that looks good,” or “That looks really bad.” This is a fair expectation if you’re working with paint or ink. However, colors take”

You would see no colors because they think that the colors are unneeded and you would only see in black and white. This would make life boring and dull, and well…colorless.

In the book Jonas thought that the colors were very cool and he wanted everyone to see in color. Since no on knew what it was, they couldn’t appreciate it even if they could see it.

ConclusionIn conclusion, the Giver community would not be a

pleasant place to live because of euthanasia, no freedom, no color, and no choice or say in what jobs, spouses, or children you get. Choices are made for you and there is no uniqueness in the community. Who would want to live here? We wouldn’t and we don’t think you wouldn’t either.

PLEASE!!! DON’T LIVE IN THE GIVER COMMUNITY!!!!!!!
